Candidate for Councilor-At-Large

11/09/2011

I want to thank everyone who voted yesterday. As Americans, voting is our right – one we’re fortunate to have, yet often take for granted. Thank you to all who voted for me – not only for your support of my candidacy, but also for caring about Salem and its neighborhoods. And congratulations to all the candidates who campaigned for Salem offices. You are all winners, for wanting to make a difference by serving the city and its residents.

They say a community is made of its residents, and yet time and time again, the needs of Salem's residents seem to not be heard. Other Salem priorities seem to be more important than resident needs, and as a result, Salem is becoming less of a perfect place to buy a home, raise our children, and retire within a supportive community that embraces family lifestyles and priorities. It's time to listen to you, Salem residents, and have your needs become Salem's priority.
