People go through life as prisoners of their minds. The only prison anyone lives in is in their own perspective and their own point of view. There’s no greater gift or sense of liberation and freedom then understanding that we superimpose onto circumstance and really the prison is just a conversation we have with ourselves.

This is exactly why mindset matters!!! From K- Pro. I’m not a psychologist or a therapist. I’m a mental performance coach. Based off my knowledge I would assume last nights Cowboys kicker at some point struggled from “the spotlight effect ”.

The spotlight effect is a term used by sports psychologists to refer to the tendency we have to overestimate how much other people notice about us. In other words, we tend to think there is a spotlight on us at all times, highlighting all of our mistakes or flaws, for all the world to see.

Once your brain goes down that rabbit hole of uncertainty it can spiral out of control real quick. When this happens we do not perform our best!

HUGE THANKS!!!! to Salem High school for having me for a YOUvYOU presentation. I had the opportunity and privilege to speak about sports anxiety and fears to such an amazing group of athletes and coaches. It’s no surprise Salem is the team to beat they’re doing all the right things!!!!
