Tech Tip Thursday!!

Why is it important to peel and peek prior to making cuts.

This is why, this pressure cylinder for the airbag system was located at the roofline above the B post in a Cadillac CTS. This area is utilized in various extrication tactics. A blind cut or a cut in the wrong location without know where these cylinders are located can lead to a failure and possibly injury. Once the cylinder is located a good practice it to mark the area so the crew knows not to make and cuts or spreads in that location.

Have you ever had a vehicle in an off grade position or limited access to the sides or ends of the vehicle??

Check out the Darlington Roll, this maneuver uses a rescue strut and basic rigging to roll/ lift the vehicle to one side to gain access to be able to make entry to the passenger compartment.
