A snow day from work seemed like the perfect time to start working the new class I’ll be teaching next semester!

October was filled with Halloween fun! We made articulation monsters and found objects in our “haunted house”.

I think it is time to buy a new jar! 1 heart for each child (and grad student) I have worked with in my 9 years of working!

Why do we do play based therapy?

The advice no one asked for but after a sensory draining day it felt necessary to share for the future SLPS, especially those working with kids!

Taking on supervision of therapy for college students in Andrews Clinic required diggging through all my speech notes and materials for a refresh.

Day 2 of year nine is done and it was a hot one today!

This week I went back to Boone, North Carolina and appstate. I haven’t been back since graduation 8 years ago, which is crazy! I was able to visit some favorite spots: Capone’s pizza, App cookie, Blue Ridge Parkway, Beacon Heights, Rough Ridge, Linville Falls.

My time at App State was special! I made great friends. I got a great education and got to live in a BEAUTIFUL for place for 16 months!

25 year old Maggie had no idea all that would come after graduation. I never thought I’d *actually* start a private practice or supervise 4 amazing grad students (Ivette, Rachelle, Raven and Anastasia). Nor did I ever think I’d teach a graduate level speech pathology course for a university. A lot has changed in the last 8 years and I am so grateful!

My second group I taught at Andrews. Thank you for your participation in class and making it a fun semester of teaching. I am so proud of all of you and excited to call you colleagues!! Good luck in your Clinical Fellowship Year!!

I was given this adorable tote bag for teacher appreciation this year. Tonight I took the straps off, added Velcro and filling to make it a pillow! Can’t wait to add this to my classroom!

A weekend road trip to Indy required the trunk to be emptied. Everything is back in and ready for a fun week of therapy!

I am Maggie Patnoudes. I am an SLP and the owner of Words and More Speech Therapy LLC.

💜I have been a school based SLP for 8 years!
💜I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University, Go Broncos!
💜I received my Master’s Degree from Appalachian State University in beautiful Boone, North Carolina.
💜I teach a graduate level course at Andrews University and loved it!!
💜I’ve had the pleasure of mentoring four fabulous graduate interns!
💜While I have experience with 3-18 year olds, I have spent most of my time with preschool through 4th graders.
💜I am a Talk Yoga certified therapist!
💜Articulation therapy is my favorite! I love working on “r”!

My goal is to provide engaging speech therapy through the use of play, yoga, and crafts!

Went to Rising Kites Coffee shop this morning for yummy coffee and donuts! It’s absolutely adorable inside and has a great outside seating area!

Rising Kites offers employment opportunities to those with intellectual disabilities! If you are in the area it is worth the trip to Bridgman to check them out!
