Planstin
Planstin Administration works with companies to manage benefit services to small to midsize businesses.
AI isn't replacing the human element at Planstin—it's helping us strengthen it.
This month, Nathan shared how proud he is of our team for embracing AI to improve internal processes, reduce inefficiencies, and help us serve members faster and more effectively.
Technology is most powerful when it allows people to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time focused on what matters most: helping others navigate healthcare with confidence.
As we continue to grow, we're committed to finding smarter ways to work while never losing sight of the people we serve.
Healthcare costs continue to rise year after year.
At some point, we have to ask a difficult question:
Are we optimizing the wrong things?
For decades, employers have focused on negotiating rates, changing carriers, and adjusting plan designs.
Yet medical inflation continues to outpace expectations.
In this clip, Derrick Udy challenges the industry to rethink the conversation:
Either we're doing it wrong... or we're focused on the wrong things.
What's your take?

Most employers focus on the healthcare costs they can see.
📈 Premium increases
📈 Renewal rates
📈 Monthly expenses
But many of the factors driving those costs are harder to spot:
• Employees delaying preventive care
• Unmanaged chronic conditions
• Benefits that go unused
• Confusion about available resources
• Workplace stress and burnout
The organizations that manage healthcare costs most effectively don't just review expenses.
They look for the behaviors and patterns creating those expenses in the first place.
What's one hidden healthcare cost you think employers overlook?

Most employers don't realize they're making it.
Many small businesses wait until renewal season to evaluate their benefits strategy. By then, opportunities to improve costs, utilization, and employee satisfaction may already be limited.

June is the perfect time for a benefits checkup.
Waiting until renewal season often leaves employers reacting instead of planning.
Taking a few minutes now to review employee utilization, healthcare costs, communication gaps, and workforce needs can help you make smarter decisions later in the year.
Which of these questions is most relevant for your organization right now?

What if you could build your coverage like a menu — and only pay for what you actually need?
That's the Planstin Individual approach.

No fluff. No coverage you'll never use. Just a plan that actually makes sense.

Miss Open Enrollment?
Not all plans are created equal—especially off-exchange, non-ACA options outside Open Enrollment.
That “low premium” plan might not be telling you the whole story.
Too many people choose coverage based on price—without fully understanding what’s actually covered (or not).
Before you enroll, ask:
• What kind of plan is it—and what are the limits?
• Any pre-existing condition exclusions?
• Caps on hospital stays, visits, labs, or medications?
• Preventive care limits? (A $750 colonoscopy benefit vs. a $5–6K reality.)
• What’s your true financial exposure? (Premium + deductible + co-insurance, copay, max out-of-pocket… plus exclusions.)
• Are there annual or lifetime caps?
The goal isn’t just saving money. It’s making sure you’re protected when it matters most.
If you’re not 100% confident in your plan, take a closer look.
We’ll help you break it all down.

The annual renewal cycle has (sadly) trained advisors to react.
Rates go up → Plans get adjusted → Contributions get shifted → Repeat
But employers are asking harder questions now:
Why does it cost this much?
Why can’t employees find doctors?
Why does the “discount” still feel expensive?
Take a closer look 👆 Those are more like strategy questions than renewal questions. Benefits design starts well before the quote; It starts with the employer’s goals.
A proactive approach looks like: Cost mechanics + Risk architecture + Tool selection
The future belongs to advisors who design. Not just those who renew.

Healthcare costs keep rising. But the real drivers are rarely discussed.
Reactive renewals. Default networks. Deceptive discounts. Most employers never see the mechanics shaping the cost of care — until it’s too late.
We’re starting a different conversation.
Watch the teaser for the Healthcare Disruption Summit, where advisors and leaders will unpack the hidden mechanics behind the system and explore smarter strategies for what comes next.

Having healthcare does not always mean being able to get care.
Many individuals and families assume that enrollment guarantees access. In reality, access is shaped by networks, approvals, wait times, and uncertainty around cost. Those barriers often determine whether care actually happens.
That gap is structural, not personal.
Planstin is built around access first. Membership-based care reduces friction and makes it easier for individuals and families to get care when it is needed, so healthcare is usable, not theoretical.
