A local nonprofit is working to make sure more children get the chance to play sports, dance, and participate in fitness activities — regardless of their family’s financial situation.

We are so grateful for everyone who came out to support The Monthly Move Project and help us continue creating athletic opportunities for children in need. From the community workout class to the vendor market, every moment reminded us how powerful community support truly is!!!

Getting to talk about our mission and the importance of athletic accessibility for children facing adversity means the world to us, and we can’t wait to continue expanding this movement and reaching even more families.
We are especially grateful that Cat, Arland, and Milton were able to be part of the interview and share pieces of their stories. Moments like these are exactly why The Monthly Move Project exists!

Five years ago I started The Monthly Move Project because I knew what it felt like to need an outlet. Growing up, dance became my safe space during difficult seasons of my life. It gave me confidence, purpose, and a place where I felt like myself. By creating TMMP I knew I wanted every child to know that they deserved to have that same opportunity.
Since then we’ve been able to help so many incredible children and families through athletic sponsorships and opportunities they may not have otherwise had. Watching these kids grow into themselves has been the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had.
There are still so many lives left to impact and this is only the beginning.
I’ve learned that success is not measured by what we accomplish for ourselves but by how we choose to help others along the way. This is what legacy looks like to me.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this mission over the last five years. You are changing lives with us💜

This afternoon I had the opportunity to present with the Brickers Foundation to share the mission behind The Monthly Move Project and advocate for the importance of youth athletics and accessibility to sports for children in poverty.
My favorite part about presenting to foundations, businesses, and organizations across our state is getting to share just how impactful youth participation in athletics can be. Sports provide so much more than just a game, they create confidence, connection, discipline, opportunity, and a sense of belonging for so many children.

Sports are meant to be FUN
They’re meant to be an outlet, a safe space, and a place where kids can just be kids.
Studies show that children who participate in sports are up to 25% less likely to experience anxiety and depression, while also building lifelong skills like teamwork, confidence, and communication!
That’s exactly why The Monthly Move Project exists, to make sure every child, no matter their circumstances, has access to those opportunities.

Did someone say The Monthly Move is going nationwide? ✨
We are so excited to be partnering with the Circles program in Ashland, Virginia for an upcoming Family Fun Night supporting local families and creating opportunities for kids to stay active, connected, and confident.
A huge thank you to Dance Fuzion Performing Arts & Entertainment and other donors for their generosity and belief in this mission. This is what it looks like when a community comes together to make a difference.
I can’t wait to see the impact this night will have and all the joy it will bring. This is only the beginning!!!
