New hexagon flooring, modern cabinetry, softer wall colors, and better lighting completely changed the vibe from cluttered to clean and elegant.

The chairs set the tone for the room with their playful theme and the client’s artwork is the true focal point per their request.

In your opinion, what is the most eye-catching piece from this living room?

Already posted a few sneak peeks of Cocoa Notes Bakeshop on here before… but this one deserved a full moment. Because listen: she may be closed, but her design still eats.

Let’s break it down:

🪑 The Chairs. That burnt orange and deep teal velvet combo is unhinged in the best way. Like a Wes Anderson set piece got invited to a bake party.

🧱 The Red Brick Queen. This building had everything 1800s: heavy crown molding, those window arches… it was never gonna be minimalist, and we respected that.

🎷 The VIBE. It’s like you’d grab a cinnamon roll while talking to a stranger about John Coltrane. The chandeliers, the wallpaper, even the weird little chandeliers in the bathroom. Here is where intentional chaos worked.

They’re closed now (sadly), but the experience of making a design for such a place was well worth it.

👀 Honest take: would you keep the wild wallpaper? Or would you tone it down and bring your own flavor?

Quick follow-up on the Cocoa Notes Bakeshop from earlier.

This window nook was begging for slow mornings, hot coffee, and a seat that makes you linger. Would you go bistro-style charm or something plush and cozy for people-watching hour?

Sure, it’s just a moodboard. But it also says “I wash my face every night,” even if you don’t.

It’s giving warm neutrals, soft drama, and a faucet that’s judging your drugstore hand soap (politely).

We’re leaning hard into calm-but-not-boring.

What you see here started as a basic, cluttered entry + living room became something calm, functional, and clean with just the right amount of professionalism.

We updated the paint, swapped out bulky furniture, added texture (that rug!), and kept the space feeling light with a mix of plants + sleek black accents.
