Day 4…
Morning practice while using props! The routine is coming together nicely and we are excited for game day (Monday). We then spent a rainy afternoon at Clearwater Beach. The locals knew the girls were from ”up north” because “they are the only people that swim when it’s cold.” We then rang in the new year while watching a talent show and are in our rooms for an early night.

We just finished our first practice and after a long 20 hour day, our dancers are ready for some rest. 😴 So far we are loving the 70° weather and look forward to what the rest of the week has in store!

Out Father/Daughter special session begins November 13. This is a 5 week special session where dancers and their partner (dad, grandpa, uncle, brother) prepare a dance that will be performed at the winter show on December 18. This year they will be dancing to the song Cinderella.

Our final coach of the year is our program director, Dakota Hansen. Dakota is an Elementary School Counselor in Northwood. She has danced with Just For Kix for 14 years and has been the director of our program for 3 years. She will be coaching our Thursday night classes along with the Senior classes on Wednesdays.

Today we celebrate coach Kenya! Kenya and her family live on an acreage outside of St. Ansgar. She works as a paraprofessional for the elementary school in St. Ansgar and is also the high school dance coach. Kenya has been a member of Just For Kix as she was a dancer, the Northwood director and has spent time as and assistant coach in St. Ansgar. She will be assisting Rylie with the Tiny and Pre Petite classes on Wednesday nights and with Wee Kix on Thursday nights.

Today we introduce Coach Rylie. Rylie is a Just For Kix alumni and danced with us for 15 years! She is a preschool teacher at Merriland Christian Preschool in St. Ansgar and this will be her second year as a dance coach. Rylie will be head instructing our Tiny Kix and Pre Petite classes on Wednesdays. She will also be assisting many other classes throughout the week. All of the dancers love Miss Rylie! ❤️
