The YES Program is back in action for July, and our 1st Field Tech Workshop was a success! 🙌🏾 Our group was super excited to meet Lucas, a 23 y/o Certified Plumber and Service Technician( and HOME OWNER AT 21😲) with Wesolek Plumbing in Saginaw.

Our youth learned about the plumbing certification process, range of job opportunities, and earning potential. Lucas also discussed some important LIFE LESSONS he learned in trade school:
1. Be disciplined. Show up FOR YOURSELF and do your best every time. It will directly affect your earning potential.
2. Be prepared. Take your future seriously and start early. SKILLED TRADES SUMMER JOBS EXIST.
3. Be YOU. Get to know yourself and what you really like. When you love what you do, it's more than a job. IT'S WHO YOU ARE!

All work and no play makes a boring summer, but "THEY NOT LIKE US!" 🤣 The 1st cohort of the YES Program has been out and about the Great Lakes Bay Region, learning about entrepreneurship, exploring the gems of the area, and sparking new ideas for the future!

Our youth have been having a blast so far with our social events, Arcade Night at Stardust Entertainment Center , and our "Day by the Bay" in Bay City at Delta College Planetarium and Crazy Quarters Arcade! What great opportunities to get our youth to expand their horizons and make lasting memories! Check out our adventures so far!

The Inaugural cohort of the YES Program is well underway! While our first meeting on June 12th was spent getting to know each other, this week's session on Juneteenth had us taking off for the Summer!

We met at Self-ish Selfie Shoppe and learned from owner Tanisha Brooks about turning youthful passion into life-fulfilling purpose! What a message she had to share with our youth! Our cohort had a blast experiencing creativity in a newer professional form, and it was great to see our directors' inner youth come out to play as well!

There is a lot more in store for our cohort to experience as we make it through this heat wave Summer, so LIKE, to keep up with us!

We are so excited for our 1st Annual "Pins 4 Prosperity" Bowl-A-Thon THIS SUNDAY! So many people saw us this week and said they were joining us that we reserved extra lanes! That means YOU CAN STILL COME! We hope to foster life-long relationships with each one of you as we support families and uplift our local urban communities to new heights. As we gear up for Sunday's event, here are a few details:
Check-in is at NOON on Sunday, 4/28/2024. This weekend, take some time and think of a team name that lets the community know who you are. Get creative and make it fun!

Lunch (Pizza & Pop) for each team is included and will be served at 1PM, so eat a light breakfast 😂

Each participant will receive a raffle ticket upon entry to win a Faith & Family Gift Pack full of Goodies!

Please mark your calendar and share these food distributions coming up! In partnership with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, UA Local 85, Laborers Local 1098, and UAW local 699 together we are helping to address food insecurities in our community!! 🙌❤️
