Based on an amusing voicemail transcription error I am considering changing my company name to Blue Ridge Soul Consulting. I think there could be an untapped market there.

Got to spend my morning alongside two other career professionals, explaining my job to a whole bunch of fifth graders from two different schools.

Just recived my new license from DPOR. I am now a "Master" Alternative Onsite Soil Evaluator. The Bible says no one can serve two masters, so I apologize to anyone who serves me in some capacity, because if they are also a Christian, I have now placed them in a bad situation, and I apologize.

It wasn't exactly a beautiful day but we got to work in a beautiful place at least.

I went to perc this property the other day but I didn't realize they already had plumbing.

Apparently I got voted "Best Soil Scientist of Ruckersville" for two years in a row. While I feel that's sort of like the Italian restaurant in Grottoes that claims to have the "best subs in town", I'll take it!

Some specimens from the Luck Stone quarry in Ruckersville. I did a little Geology talk yesterday at MAD Arts Science Camp and we took a field trip to the quarry. What beauty lies 200 feet beneath the earth!

Let me just say it was not my idea to perc this field with chest high corn!

Yesterday I dropped my cel phone down a 4-foot auger hole. Luckily there's an app for that...it's called a shovel!

Gosh, the places where I have to go.

I'm working on Christmas Cards today for all my clients. I like to do this every year, because it causes me to stop and reflect, and be thankful for every client, and especially those who have referred my services.

I'd like to recognize my good friend, Joanne Nobile. Joanne is a very talented graphic designer who came up with our very first logo three years ago. I recently had some color added when I got my truck lettered, but the design of the logo remains the same and it still looks great. Thanks Joanne!

OK, I've been in the office over an hour now, I think I've got to stop playing on facebook and do some work.

I spent all day at the VEHA (Virginia Environmental Health Association) Fall Conference. I'll have to say it was the most informative training session I've been to in a while. Plus, I got to see alot of old friends and colleagues. Plus I earned 5 hours of continuing education!

I just made applications to the County yesterday for our signs for the new office. Hopefully we will have signs up soon!
