There’s been a mess of Mardi Gras beads sitting in my Pat O’Brien’s hurricane glass for… well, let's call it “a while.” I kept telling myself every time I walked past them that I’d do something with those someday. Maybe you have a bag like that somewhere? 😄

Well, that day finally came and I am so happy I waited because this idea worked out better than I thought. I made those plastic beads into trim on a farmhouse pedestal stand using only chalky finish paint, a Dollar Tree candlestick, a wood plaque and some glue.

The secret is to dip the beads in a mix of paint and water instead of brushing it on each one. It’s a game changer for coverage.

Now the stand sits on my shelf with a sunflower jar on it and it looks like something I would buy at a boutique. The best part? You can paint the beads whatever color feels right for your space, like gold for fall, sage for spring or red for the holidays. Same technique, infinite possibilities.

One question I get asked over and over again is which scissors do I like best for everyday crafting.

And it's these, BY FAR ✂️ ✂️ ✂️

Fun fact, I actually own 9 pairs of them (yes, I may have a problem, lol!!!)

AND, at the time that I am posting these, they are 60% off - run, don't walk to grab these!

Don't toss that outdated chair! 🛑 Transform it instead.

I turned my daughter's old, fuzzy teen chair into my absolute favorite work-from-home spot, and I'm breaking down exactly how I did it.

(Hint: I hadn't used a zipper foot on my sewing machine in 17 years before this... so if I can do this, YOU can totally do this! 🧵✨)

My neighbor's daughter had "sit upon" on her camp list.
She had NO idea what it was. Neither did half the moms I asked. 😄

So I made her one — and it might be the cutest summer craft I've
ever done. Full story + tutorial below 👇
