I trained hard, I logged many miles during more than 20 weeks, I felt physically & mentally strong & in the meantime I helped raise $5,179 for with the help of so many great hearted friends & family.

2022 Boston Marathon was the toughest marathon I have ran in my life. I started slower than usual, saving energy… but at mile 12th my left groin’s muscle started acting out and it was too early in the race so I tried modifying my stride, massaging it but somehow it got worse and my legs started cramping too. It’s the first race that I had to walk some parts, stop at medical tents for massage & biofreeze. At some point the pain was so bad that I saw a guy next to his bike and he had a helmet and I stopped and said: “Can I use your helmet?” And he was like “Sure, what for?” And I used it as a roller to massage my legs. Bless this guy 🙏🏼
Mile 3 & 16, I got to see my friend July, Oswaldo’s wife & their girls with beautiful motivational banners. Mile 17 I saw the Team for Kids cheering squad & even when my legs were almost like logs and I felt really bad, just a great moment that made me smile reminding me that TFK is like a family and we are doing this “for the kids”. You rock guys.

I kept pushing, some walking, some running but at mile 25 I said, I can’t walk Boylston St. so I gathered all energy I had left and ran the last mile, reaching the finish line with my arms in the air & a smile in my face. (Maybe a few tears in my eyes too)

I learned so much from this race, but mostly I thank God that gave me the mental strength to keep running, my amazing friends & family who cheered me up and all the volunteers along the way. As challenging as it was, I never gave up and it helps me to value a good running day, to keep training hard for the next marathon & to be thankful for so many blessings I have. I might come back some day and try to do a better run but in the meantime, I am now an official Boston Marathon finisher. Thank you & bless y’all.
