🌳🔥 Fire Blight Alert! 🔥🌳
Hey everyone, it's time to talk about Fire Blight—a serious threat to our pear, apple, and trees in the Rosaceae family! 🍐🍎 This bacterial disease spreads rapidly, causing wilting, blackened leaves, and scorched branches resembling fire damage.
Let's stay vigilant and keep an eye out for any signs of Fire Blight in our properties / gardens. Early detection and swift action are key to preventing its spread. 💪🌿 Remember, proper pruning, sanitation, and choosing resistant varieties can help protect our precious trees. 🌳💚 If you think your trees may have fire blight, then reach out to Certified Arbor Care to discuss options at ☎️ 512.671.8733
Our arborists meet all sorts of friends when they’re out with clients. Sometimes they are very cute and just want snacks! 🐿️ 🌳 Bella Reyes met this cute little friend on a recent appointment. He sure did appreciate his pecan! ”

🪧 Have you seen foam or concrete in trees before? It’s an old technique that is not highly recommended by arborists. The most common reason for using foam or concrete is to seal up cavities in a tree, but that goal becomes obsolete as the tree grows and changes in form. Another goal is to prevent cavities from becoming more decayed. However, both foam and concrete are porous mediums and will still allow, if not worsen, decay / fungal presence. 🌳
If you have been advised to use foam or concrete, 📞 call us for a second opinion!

New to Central Texas? No your live oak isn’t dying (most likely).
Live oaks are semi-evergreen trees, which means they retain their leaves through the winter but renew their foliage in the spring. This process, often referred to as the “Spring flash” or “Leaf Drop”, it involves the emergence of new leaves that push off the older ones, leading to a significant leaf drop. This natural cycle can sometimes be mistaken for the tree dying, especially by those who are not accustomed to the species’ characteristics. Additionally, it’s normal for live oaks to shed some leaves during the summer and fall, but the majority of leaf drop happens in the spring. Understanding these patterns is crucial for proper tree care and can alleviate concerns about the health of these trees. Live oaks are a valuable part of the landscape in Central Texas, providing shade, beauty, and habitat for wildlife.
Not sure about the health of your tree? Contact the office to schedule an appointment @ 512.671.8733 or www.certifiedarborcare.net

Please be careful around trees with storm damage. Limbs in the canopy are still falling out and limbs that are still attached can be tricky to remove. Please contact us for help or a reputable company that has certified arborist(s), insurance (liability and WORKERS COMPENSATION), with knowledge to do this work correctly and safely!
