Can I get cosmetic tattoos while I have cancer or if I’m going through chemo?

You should always consult with your doctor before getting any treatments, and get a note to clear you for services like tattooing.

Usually you just have to wait until 6 months after you finish chemo to get tattooed.

Let’t talk about KELOIDS:

What are they? Thick, raised scars. They can occur wherever you have a skin injury but usually forms on earlobes, shoulders, cheeks or the chest

Can you get tattooing done on keloids? No.

This type of scar often extends beyond the boundary of the original wound. The best treatment for it will be determined by your doctor, but steroid injections are common. Keloids are NOT suitable candidates for tattooing.

So this means if you had keloid scars, you will not be a candidate for scar camouflaging and inkless tattooing.

🩷If you’re not sure if your scar is a keloid or not, please always consult a medical professional. Once they clear you, then we can get you scheduled for a consultation or appointment for scar camo / scar revision.

Semi-permanent ar**las?

This is a very common question in the permanent makeup/paramedical tattooing world. Is it permanent or semi-permanent?

And the answer is both, kindof.

Let me explain: pigments that are used for paramedical tattooing and permanent makeup are often designed to be softer and fade over time. Artists also don’t go as deep into the skin for services like ar**la or brow tattooing, compared to a traditional body tattoo artist.

So the technique and the pigments are what make the final result often be referred to as “semi-permanent.”

But here’s the skinny of it… you most likely will always have SOME pigment in your skin, even after the initial 1-3 year mark when colorboosts are often recommended. This is because of the fading that occurs and not necessarily that all the pigment is gone.

So while the answer to this question seems to depend on who you are talking to, the fact is that everyones skin is different and accepts pigment differently so there’s no “right” answer. (But my opinion is that it’s permanent! So expect to have pigment in your skin for years to come!)

What is the difference between ar**la reconstruction and ar**la repigmentation/tattooing?

🌸Ar**la Repigmentation/Tattooing is a form of paramedical tattooing that adds color back into the area where the ar**las are located. We can also create an entirely new ar**la from scratch if you have had yours removed during surgery, like my client in the photo above who opted out of doing ar**la grafts.

This service is designed for anyone who wants to darker or enhance their ni***es, to make them appear more symmetrical, larger or more noticeable. Or add the entire ni**le(s) back onto their chest if they no longer have them.

🌺Ar**la Reconstruction is a surgical procedure, often occurring at the end of a breast reconstruction, where the doctor uses skin grafts to recreate the original ni**le.

Ar**la Tattooing can be considered as a part of the entire reconstruction process, but the main difference is that reconstruction is performed by doctors, where as the repigmentation/tattooing is performed by a paramedical tattoo artist, like myself.

How long after your ar**la reconstruction, can you get your ar**las tattooed?

After you’ve had any type of reconstructions surgery on your chest, including ar**la reconstruction, you’ll need to give the skin adequate time to completely heal before getting a tattoo. While some recommend at least 3 months, other doctors even recommend up to 12-18 months to ensure the scar is fully healed and mature. Everyone heals differently so it’s best to ask your doctor what they recommend before pursuing any type of ar**la tattooing.

I know the wait can feel like forever when you want perfect ar**las NOW, but I promise you it will be well worth it when your tattoo results look amazing.

Ar**la Tattooing adds color and dimension back into the ar**las when you still have them like my client above but just have scarring that has removed color and added unwanted texture. (Swipe to see what they looked like before tattooing!)

It is common for ar**las to be affected by a breast augmentation surgery.

This could be due to the resizing of or cutting around the ar**la during the surgery, and the doctor having made the decision to make the ar**la more proportionate to the end result of each breast.

First, you’ll come in for a FREE consultation, same as with any of the paramedical tattooing procedures I offer. During this consultation, we may map out your ar**las so you can see placement and size.

At the end of your consultation, we’ll book you for your appointment and go over pre-care and aftercare instructions to ensure you are fully informed and ready.

The day you come in for your appointment, we will map out your ar**las again, ensuring they are exactly right with measuring tools, skin-safe pens and other supplies. As you can see in the photos above, we measure using the entire chest and neck, to make sure the ar**las are in the right spots. Some people come in without any ar**las so I want to take the time to ensure they’re in the most natural locations.
