“Live to Ride!”

What a week we are having! It’s our advanced camp week and the riders are having so much fun riding LOTS, learning, making new friends and making amazing memories.
So far we have had a jump lesson from the amazing Skyeler Icke Voss, Flat lesson from the wonderful Hannah Schofield, xc lesson at Meghan O'Donoghue Eventing, farrier demonstration from Pete Jackson, saddle fitting from Design and Liz. They have learned so so much outside of these demonstrations too. Thank you to Karyn Michelle Hernandez for allowing us to demo Bemar, the horses were a huge fan of that one.
2 more days remaining with so much more in stock.

We have the best team! I couldn’t be more proud of all our riders from today and all recent shows (I’m the worst about posting, life gets so busy). Today was a LONG day, 5am loading start time and not getting back to the barn until 8:30pm, but ALL riders and parents pushed through a hot day and had an amazing day. Some conquering their nervousness, some doing their first shows, some competing at a new height and not one of them gave up. They came away having learned so much but most importantly having so much fun with their best friends.
I love this barn family, they make the long days easier to get through. 🐴
Now time to sleep for days (oh and this wasn’t even all the ribbons). Parents from today, please post your pictures in the comments 🙂

We have been extremely busy horse showing recently! Two back to back weeks of showing. Upperville C**t & Horse Show followed by Loudoun Benefit Horse Show.
I am so proud of each and every rider that competed. We had some amazing rounds and ribbons. Every single rider worked incredible hard and came out having learned so much. I am so excited for each and every rider to see where they take the season.
Congratulations to all SARC riders! You made Serene Acres proud.

Going into my tack room I came across a file of pictures.
I thought it might be nice to share them with you. Most will not know who they are but if you follow Serene Acres from years gone by you may see your face or the face of a much loved equine that you rode.
Each picture I have added a thought or comment and please tag yourself or someone you know to share. Enjoy and memories are the times we made special things happen with hard work.

Head over for all riding goodies!

Congratulations to our newly rated pony club members! (Missing a few from pictures and forgot to grab my D1’s). It was a long but great day for HM certifying. All did an outstanding job and can’t wait for the riding part in May!
It’s never to late to join pony club. Contact Olivia for more info or to join our amazing pony club team.
Thank you to our amazing examiner Mary, it was almost everyone’s first certification, so thank you for being patient and teaching along the way.

This is a very strange post…but unfortunately people do very strange things in this world. Our picnic bench was stolen, it looks just like this and was sitting in front of our barn. Please if you stole our bench, to return it.

We are going to cancel our spring break camp due to low amount of campers.
All summer camps still running as is.
We will continue lessons over spring break for those in town.
Have a wonderful week and enjoy this beautiful weather!

Happy Belated Birthday to Shoshoni! March 20th 🎉🎂

Little transformation Thursday!
Daisy came to us right off the track as a 3yo. Started her lightly under saddle and she dropped in weight (they tend to do that when they go from race fit, out to the field for a bit, then into work). It’s very defeating at first, you get embarrassed that your horse looks this way, even though you know you’re feeding her but trying not to over feed and you feel as if you’re just chasing your tail.
Fast forward 4 months and she looks healthy as ever with a great coat and amazing weight on her!
Deciding what to feed my horses is no easy task. Everyone of them is different, but about 4 months ago I tried less grain/no grain and increased their alfalfa pellets, beet pulp, ground flax, rice bran and it has worked wonders. They of course get their supplements they need (Daisy gets magnesium, cocosoya oil, cool calories).
Daisy will be for sale soon! She’s going to make an amazing jumper. Even has her lead changes!!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful and amazing day! Thank you to everyone for an amazing year. 🎄

Hope everyone had an amazing day! So thankful for all my amazing clients.

Our newest Serene Acres spotlight rider is Nya! Nya has been riding at Serene Acres for 3 years, and her favorite pony at the barn is Shoshoni. She always comes to the barn ready to lesson with a big smile and lots of energy! Her favorite thing about riding is cantering and her goal is to gallop. When she grows up, Nya wants to be a trainer just like Olivia!

Our second Sunday spotlight Serene Acres rider is Izzy Ring!
Izzy’s favorite pony is her lease pony Star, but her first love will always be Ashley. She’s been riding at Serene Acres for around 5 years and is on the middle school IEA team as well as pony club. Izzy’s favorite style of riding is equitation where she and Star are a great pair taking top placings! They’re looking forward to showing in the 2’6 eq class at WEC in November where her goal is to continue taking home blue ribbons.

Our first Sunday Spotlight Serene Acres rider is Haley Kirby! Haley has been riding at Serene Acres for a little over a year and this will be her second season on the lEA team. Haley's favorite pony/ horse at the barn is her lease horse GM. Haley also owns big Jackson! She's been doing amazing with her showing and is looking forward to her upcoming shows at Tryon and WEC

Many of our riding customers and barn family own one of these wonderful dogs.
We still have 2 that could join your family. Pm Pamela Smith or Serenity Labs for more info.
Something I feel like a lot of people need to hear…yes riding costs lots of money, but man will it teach your kid more than you could ever imagine.
⭐️⭐️One of my friends asked "Why do you pay so much money for your kids to do horse riding?" Well I have a confession to make, I don't pay for my kids horse riding. Personally, I couldn't care less about horse riding.
So, if I am not paying for horse riding, what am I paying for?
- I pay for those moments when my kids become so tired they want to quit but don't.
- I pay for those days when my kids come home from school and are "too tired" to go the stables but go anyway.
- I pay for my kids to learn to be disciplined.
- I pay for my kids to learn to take care of their body.
- I pay for my kids to learn to work with others and to be good team mates.
- I pay for my kids to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don't get that score they'd hoped for, but still have to work hard in the grading.
- I pay for my kids to learn to make and accomplish goals.
- I pay for my kids to learn that it takes hours and hours and hours and hours of hard work and practice to create a champion, and that success does not happen overnight.
- I pay for the opportunity my kids have and will have to make life-long friendships.
- I pay so that my kids can be in the arena instead of in front of a screen...
..I could go on but, to be short, I don't pay for horse riding, I pay for the opportunities that horse riding provides my kids with to develop attributes that will serve them well throughout their lives and give them the opportunity to bless the lives of others. From what I have seen so far I think it is a great investment!

Attention SARC students! We are so excited for our next fundraiser. Please join us for an in-house barn show!

Wow what a month June was!! I’m so far behind in all social media aspects. We have attended a few shows recently where all riders rode amazing! Upperville, Loudoun Benefit, Hunt Club, Locke Meadows. So many of my riders have reached such amazing goals recently. So proud to coach all of them and so so proud of my amazing ponies!
We had our first week of summer camp which went absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a camp for your rider, we have a couple spots left in our Agugust camp. Check our website for dates.
Campers get a riding lesson daily (1hr minimum lesson), horse management, learn about the way of the barn and how to care for horses, do a craft daily, and have a ton of fun.
Murphy, Big Jackson and General all have new owners now! Still a part of our barn, but owned by SARC riders! Huge congratulations to those owners, I’m excited to see what’s to come for you all.
We have tons of upcoming shows and events! Make sure you’re on TeamSnap to follow along and make sure you don’t miss out. We will attend a couple shows each month throughout the year, showing us for ANYONE! Even have our in house show which is just for SARC riders.
Lastly, we have a few ponies/horse for partial lease: Lil Blue, Benji (Milo), Twix and Ginger!

Started Upperville C**t & Horse Show off with Lauren and General bringing home a 4th in the TB 1.00m Jumpers

Just two days left of voting!
