Happy Thanksgiving! Need 5 tips to help you survive the holiday?
1) Exercise - Sign up for a 5k, plan a football game with the kids, take a walk with the family after eating. There are many ways to squeeze in a little exercise and still enjoy the day.
2) Plan - Invited out? Bing a healthy side dish! Hosting? Make at least 2 items that are healthy! Decide in advance what your limits are and eat accordingly.
3) Portion Control - Try a spoonful of everything, but load your plate with the healthier items - Turkey, steamed veggies, salad, fresh fruit.
4) Water - Avoid sodas or sugary drinks, drink water instead. If consuming alcohol, have a glass of water between every drink.
5) Let go and enjoy - Decide to fully enjoy the day, then back on track on Friday! Give away the unhealthy leftovers and keep the healthier foods for snacking. Schedule your workouts for the rest of the weekend, and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
