Thanks a lot for the info on your page
a relative of mine had an experience with a certain west palm medical transport service where he needed emergency care and found that they were not equipped to handle it, Thankfully nothing serious happened, I was just wondering what happens if/when a case of non-emergency becomes an emergency? how prepared should/could NEMT providers be?

This week's brings us back to a few years ago when our dispatchers would operate on two small monitors, a desk phone and handheld radios while routing 80-100 trips each day.

Since then, we have made major upgrades to our Care Command Center to accommodate our partnership with RWJ Barnabas and increased volume. Our dispatchers are now tasked with real-time scheduling and rerouting of hundreds of planned, unplanned and emergency transports 24 hours each day. Our Dispatchers monitor driver logs, verify insurance, address crew and facility issues in order to dispatch the appropriate team members for calls as needed, so it is only natural that we provide the team with all of the most up-to-date tools and technology necessary to continue contributing to our success.

We recently caught up with Rooby, a MAVT who has been with on time since 2014 to ask him a bit about his time here as well as one of our infamous "This or That" questions! Here's what he had to say:

Q. What inspired you to join On Time?

A. After my separation from my wife, I wanted to start over new. I wanted a new job and everything. One of the customers from my previous employers worked for On Time and each time I saw him, I asked more and more questions about the company until he finally told me to apply. I have been working for On Time ever since then!

Q. What do you think makes you unique as a team member?

A. I definitely think it’s my sense of responsibility and the fact that I am reliable. I think those two things make me valuable to the company because they can depend on me the same way that I can depend on them.

Q. What do you think is the most important skill that a successful MAVO should have?

A. Compassion and also being aware of your surroundings is very important. When you are compassionate and make safety a top priority, you will be successful at everything you do. You will realize that every patient is unique, there is not one solution for all patients but everyone is different. When you make sure that safety is part of everything you will be successful.

Q. This or That: Would you rather be the smartest person in the world or the richest person in the world?

A. Oh this is easy. The smartest person in the world because if you are the smartest person, how can you be poor? You can use your brain and get rich, but if you were rich and not smart, you can lose it all the next day!

We thank Rooby for his years of dedication to our organization and look forward to seeing his many examples of for many years to come!
