Are you looking for ways to get involved in service projects that directly impact our neighborhoods in positive ways? Are you looking for a way to open your kids’ minds to creative ways to love their neighbors? At Rome Community Kitchen, we pack bags to send home with our guests every Friday that provides healthy food options for them to eat over the weekend. We collect these items throughout the week and grocery shopping is a great way to get your kids involved after school. Also, as we enter into the summer months, your family (or friend group or Bible study group, etc) can come up and pack bags together and hand them out to our guests (if desired). There are many ways to partner with us to bring love and unity to our city.
Monetary donations are also always accepted and greatly appreciated! Please visit our NEW website to learn more!
I have attached a list of items that we purchase or collect every week if you’d like to add any to your weekly grocery list!

Did you know that in addition to providing a hot meal for lunch every day, we also operate a Community Care Center where guests can take a warm shower and get their laundry done free of charge? Guests have the opportunity to take a shower in a private bathroom where they can feel safe and comfortable for a short while. We are one of the only organizations in Rome that provides this service for our guests. We are currently open 2 days/week but would love to grow to 3-4 days/week. It would be wonderful for guests to be able to feel good and clean multiple days per week!
If you’d like to partner with us to grow our Community Care Center, please follow the easy to use links on our Brand NEW website!

Best Friday Ever!!! Ended the week and kicked off Spring with smoked chicken and ribs! A HUGE THANK YOU to our friend, Willie Williams, for blessing us with delicious food and even better company! He has been such an encouraging addition to our team of volunteers at CK! He’s even teaching one of our Shorter students, Evan, how to use a smoker! God is good all the time!

Look at all of these beautiful people serving our neighbors! A huge THANK YOU to PEO Chapters E, J and AO for spending their afternoon preparing casseroles, making sandwiches, and baking cookies for our guests! They helped stock our freezers back in January, and we were able to serve the casseroles this month! What a blessing!

Today, on the 1-year anniversary of the accident that changed her life, Hannah Nabors spent the day “focusing on the joy of praise instead of the heartbreak from last year”. Along with three of her friends, she served food to our friends at Rome Community Kitchen. She focused on her blessings and loving others. Her example taught me a lot about the true power of gratitude, hope, grace, and forgiveness through the power of Jesus.
