DFW lost much of it’s ground-level landscaping from weather extremes. Cooper Design Works is assisting building owners and managers with durable and cost-effective solutions that include conceptual design, phasing, and cost estimating with contractor input. Cooper Design Works will also assist with municipal, association and architectural review board approvals.

Early sketches for a high desert landscape and site design in the Davis Mountains.
Cooper Design Works is involved in the restoration of damaged/distressed land. In this creekside back yard, intermittent flooding along with runoff from nearby fields rendered much of the property off limits. A flagstone path with a low-water crossing was employed to reclaim the opposite side for a kitchen garden, and a native riparian ecosystem re-established. Many thanks to Landscapes Inc. for above-and-beyond craftsmanship.

Parking Garage No. 1 and the Perot Women’s Center Porte Cochere at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas are now re-opened for traffic as finishing touches are added to the drop-off canopies and upper level traffic coating. Board-formed concrete planters with 100% native/adapted plants are being sandblasted and a stainless steel sign wall is prepped for identification graphics. A weld plate mount has been added for a soon-to-arrive steel sculpture. All complimenting the completed renovation of the Perot Women’s Center and Rooftop Plaza. In collaboration with HKS Architects and Thornton-Tomasetti Engineers.

Preston Main Village is a proposed mixed-use development near downtown Frisco that will accommodate retail, office, and hotel uses along with a new Hutchins Barbecue restaurant. The development will feature public open space and restaurant amenities including a plaza, water features, pergola, casual seating and drought-tolerant landscaping. Cooper Design Works was involved in the PD zoning, and is presently working through final design and municipal approvals.

Hardscape demolition was completed at 600 East Las Colinas Boulevard in preparation for a proposed Fitness Plaza And Multi-Purpose Space. Design development is ongoing as the plaza compliments the existing building’s nautical style architecture. The plaza will offer a break-out patio for a 1st floor fitness center, and serve as a multi-use outdoor space for gatherings or events. All users will enjoy a stunning view of Lake Carolyn and Levy Event Plaza.
