Staff have been enjoying special visits outside from our furry four legged volunteers. A big shout out to our Volunteer Pet Handlers Kathy Leistner and Julia Aida Kester for taking time out of their day to bring their dogs for the staff to enjoy!

Our very special volunteer for over 55 years, Ruth Fortin (seated), celebrated her 97th Birthday with some of her volunteer friends at Baldwin Park. Ruth looks forward to returning as a volunteer once the program resumes. Happy Birthday Ruth! Thanks for all you do!

Please welcome our newest volunteers! On March 13th, Volunteer Services welcomed 9 new volunteers who are assisting throughout the hospital on patients care units, clerical departments and at off-site facilities.

On Tuesday, November 20th, members of the Volunteer Services staff as well as SNCH volunteers attended a Volunteer Fair at Nassau Community College to spread the word about the many volunteer opportunities offered at SNCH.

On Monday, November 19th, Volunteer Services kicked off the holidays with a Holiday Potluck! Everyone brought a dish, shared a meal and some laughs. A great time was had by all.

One of our volunteers, Joseph Anfora, was spotlighted in the Newsday this week. Aside from volunteering at SNCH, Joe also volunteers at a local soup kitchen and will be serving the community there this Thanksgiving. Great work Joe!
