Maple Pointe has been on the move. We have traveled to Eisenhower Park, Lido Beach Senior Summer Program, the Veteran's Memorial and welcomed all our new residents. It has been a busy time but we are enjoying every moment. Hope that you are enjoying the summer as well.

The residents in Cottage really enjoy singing. So, during one of our weekly karaoke sessions, we had a little friendly competition on the most spirited singer. When each resident got up to the mic, the entertainer came out. Some of our singers even partnered on a song or two. Who won? The entire Cottage! Each resident put their spin on the song they selected and got the crowd to join in. What is your favorite song to sing?

Our residents so love the Dishin’ with Dwight cooking demonstration/tasting sessions, they recently asked chef Dwight if he could teach them to cook. So today he did not disappoint. The first lesson was to make waffles as part of a chicken and waffles dish. Here we have two new cooks, Jane and Beverly assisting chef Dwight in pouring batter and flipping the waffle pan. And from the smiles on everyone face, they all enjoyed the completed recipe. Bon Appetit!

Maple Pointe At Rockville Centre is running a great End of Summer Promotion for our new Memory Care Only wing opening very soon! Our Scouting Connections program brings intergenerational socialization to our seniors. However, the friendships made with our residents at Country Cottage and St. Agnes Girl Scouts went way beyond our expectations. Colbie, one of the Girl Scouts was asked by her family, what she wanted for her birthday. Her response was, "I want to spend time with the seniors at Cottage." Colbie and her friend Caroline came and spent the afternoon to celebrate. We wish you a Happy Birthday Colbie!

At Maple Pointe at Rockville Centre, we not only like to feel good, we love to look good. Country Cottage hosted a Day of Beauty that included time with friends, learning about skin care and nails, and even winning a few prizes! What are your favorite beauty products? We love to know.

Summer is in full swing at Maple Pointe. Today's summer rain didn't stop us from traveling to the Caribbean Island for our lunch theme BBQ. Residents truly enjoyed the afternoon with dancing, Jerk Chicken, Rice & Beans, and Pina Coladas

National Mac & Cheese Day. So Yummy! We celebrated with a Mac & Cheese Bar. Residents had a selection of bacon, bread crumbs, scallions and cheddar cheese to garnish their dish. Lots of smiles and full tummies filled the dining room. How did you enjoy National Mac & Cheese Day?

How to keep cool during a hot and humid summer day? At Country Cottage at Maple Pointe, our Food Service Director, Dwight B., demonstrated how to make two different pina coladas during our Dishin' with Dwight session. The first was the typical drink. But the second was a twist called The Country Cottage Colada. Can you guess what's in it? Please leave your guess in the comment section.

Happy Fourth of July Week, Yes!! We are still celebrating here at Maple Pointe. What a beautiful day to do it. Thursday, July 6th residents and their families enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch, live entertainment and lots of sunshine as we honored America once again for its 247th birthday.

At Country Cottage at Maple Pointe we love celebrating America's birthday! Our birthday party included a barbeque with family and friends. Great food, great music, and great fun! How did you celebrate America's birthday? We would love to know!

Last summer at Maple Pointe's Country Cottage, we learned to play dominoes. It became a big hit with the residents and an activity they consistently ask for. So during the hot and humid days of this summer, what better way to stay cool than to visit Country Cottage's Smoothie Bar for a refreshing drink and a friendly dominoes match. What summer games do you like to play? We would love to know.

Summer Trips have begun . Our first stop the Senior Enrichment Program at The Sands. Residents enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Lido Beach. Soaking up some sun and enjoying live entertainment. Send us your suggestion on trips we can take this summer.

At Country Cottage we love socializing with people in our community. Residents hosted a Scouting Connections - Game Day.
Local scouts from St. Agnes School enjoyed an afternoon of playing a variety of games with the Cottage residents. When the group was asked "Who won the most?" Both scouts and residents replied "We did! Do you have any scouting memories? We loved to know!

There wasn't much sunshine today for the first day of summer but our residents brought the sunshine and smiles with our Yellow Theme Lunch BBQ. We would love to know how you celebrated the first day of summer.

Happy Father's Day! Maple Pointe At Rockville Centre wants to recognize all dad's young and old who will be enjoying the day. Some of our residents are are dad's, grandad's and great great grandad's! We want to celebrate and thank you on this day for all the hard work that you have done and continue to do!

Maple Pointe At Rockville Centre encourages our residents to show their creative side. Rich, one of our long time residents set up a "pop up shop" in our lobby to sell his unique items. This has been a annual event that our residents, staff and families enjoy plus it brings great joy to Rich's heart. He loves that he can showcase his handy work. Good Job Rich!

Celebrating National Egg Roll Day at Maple Pointe. Residents enjoying every bite of that crunchy vegetable filled goodness. Nothing like a little snack to brighten up your day.

We were pleased to have students come in from South Side High School and display their art projects for the residents for a mini art show! This was for their Assess community service installation which took them a month to complete and they were happy to showcase it to our eager residents and staff! Maple Pointe At Rockville Centre

Our Country Cottage residents at Maple Pointe At Rockville Centre participated in a great activity called Art from the Heart! The red and yellow picture was done by our resident, Arlene and it is entitled "Flowers Blooming". The green piece was done by our resident, Thelma and it is entitled "Green Meadow". It's BBQ season! What better way to start the season off than our annual Red, White and Blue themed Memorial Day BBQ! We invited resident families, our residents from memory care and assisted living and all joined in on the festivities in and outdoors of the community! Kudos to the whole Maple Pointe Team for all pitching in to serve, set up and make sure that our first BBQ of the year was well attended and a hit! Looking forward to many more successful BBQ's going forward.

We are so fortunate to have Fox Rehab based in our community offering excellent physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to our residents here at Maple Pointe Assisted Living!

We truly are a family here at Maple Pointe! For one special lady, her special day is coming up soon soon! We were happy to throw Samantha Stein our Director of Case Management a special Bridal Shower for her upcoming nuptials. The team did a great job organizing the event especially Andrea! Please join us and congratulating Samantha on her upcoming wedding!

The Residents at Maple Pointe Assisted Living were off to the races today bringing the Kentucky Derby to their day! The day was complete with horse racing, a decorative craft and a tasty social. Thank you to Andrea and her team in recreations for making this possible!

I love the 80's!!! Maple Pointe Assisted Living hosted a fun filled 80's Murder Mystery themed Networking Event! We had great food (made by our amazing Food Service Director, Dwight), awesome networking and totally tubular time! Thank you to all of our team members for all the hard work an effort you did in planning and putting this together! We look forward having you at our next event! 's

It's baseball season! Maple Pointe Assisted Living is bringing the baseball diamond to the residents with our weekly Box Seat Buddies activity complete with ballpark food and refreshments!
