Old school maroon is the color for this build

This is my 292 engine for the 28 ford we are building. We are using a lot of John Mummert parts including a short timing cover. We need to shorten the pan about 3 inches
This weekend we entered our project in the Stillman Valley fall festival car show . I am happy that we won our under construction class . Today as I reflect on a great show I want to thank Stan and The Hot Rod Shop Inc in Rockford IL for sponsoring a class in the show . Please remember if you buy parts this shop gives back to help our hobby and racing enthusiasts. Local brick mortar shops are far more valuable then saving a few bucks on the internet. Thank you Stan Chappell
Really went well but not that fast
We had a wedding this past week, The body joined this frame and became a roller 😆
Sent the body off to be dipped, very happy with the results. A good cleaning and on goes the epoxy
Today was start up day for the 56 Ford project.
This week we help pickup a project that is very special to a young man turning 15 this summer. This truck was purchased brand new by his father and has been setting for sometime. It appears to be in good shape needing tires and fluids changed and what repairs we find will be made. I’m sure a good cleaning and a wax job will help the red paint to pop and it will be close to the way his Dad drove back in the day . This young man has a Mom thats pretty special too, she has kept this truck for him to drive as his first ride and a tie to his father.... his Dad past away 12 years ago of cancer , I’m not sure the memories of a 3 year old child has but I know thanks to his family and a few friends he will be making new memories this summer in Daddy’s truck
Today has turned out to be special , along with Standard spring we did some spring work and repairs on the “Operation Fallen Flags” truck . Sgt. Nick Parnello and a group of veterans came to say thank you . This awesome group came with 2 TV station film crews ,a newspaper reporter ,coffee and cake and a certificate of appreciation for Larry Clevenger (my Dad)and his crew.
