1: Tire pressure issues. If your tires continually lose air or seem to completely deflate without warning, you may need to stop by Marvin's Tire Shop for tire repair or replacement if necessary.

2: Sidewall bulges. Caused by hitting curbs, potholes or other obstacles can cause your tire to develop sidewall bulges due to breaks of the inner liner. These bulges can rupture causing a potentially unsafe situation. If you spot a bulge on your tires, come by our tire shop and have your tires inspected.

3: There's cracked rubber. Caused by sunlight, heat, and chemicals used to melt snow and ice can reduce rubber flexibility, causing tires to crack, lose air, and eventually fail.

4: Uneven tire tread. Vehicle alignment, tire pressure, lack of rotation, and/or worn steering and suspension components all contribute to this problem.

5: Tread wear bars are flush with the tread. As these bars become even with the top of the tread, it is likely time for new tires.

How to avoid Dry Rot or Cracked tires?
UV exposure and oxygen are major degradation factors.

• Avoid keeping tires stationary for extended periods of time. Tires are meant to be used and for movement.

• Be careful with tire cleaners. Petroleum based tire cleaners can degrade rubber compounds. Use non-petroleum products or simply soap and water.

• If you are storing tires, store them indoors if possible and away from direct sunlight.

Regularly check to see if your tires have enough air. Low tire pressure not only costs you more in gas, but can wear the tires prematurely and cause damage to the tire itself.
