Join us for a presentation, discussion and reflection on the Rochester General Strike of 1946. May 28th is the 80th anniversary. After May Day in recent years has spawned so many conversations about general strikes, we thought it would be appropriate to truly reflect on this historic moment for our city.
Please share widely!

Don't miss tonight's discussion and training with the Workers Assembly of Rochester!
Minneapolis led the way and we can learn from their efforts. We haven't seen the same intensive invasion as them, but there are still ICE raids happening in and around our city. Just because our coworkers and family are being kidnapped quietly, doesn't mean we shouldn't oppose it just as strongly!

Our Principle of Unity on Internationalism says: We stand in solidarity with the working class in all lands and workers migrating between lands. The struggle to improve working conditions and wages must not be confined within national borders. When this occurs, the rich increase their power and wealth by dividing us and war enriches the wealthy at the expense of the poor. Competition between workers, whether as individuals or as nationalities, degrades wages and working conditions for all. To counter these divisive effects, we need a strong labor movement that protects immigrants, obstructs war efforts, and resists state violence that maintains upward wealth distribution of the value generated by workers.
Today, we stand with Venezuelans right to determine their own future. The blatantly illegal actions of the Trump administration should be massively opposed by all. His lawlessness has already and will continue to hurt working people here and abroad.
