Beyond Addiction
Beyond Addiction. Truth before comfort. Change rooted in responsibility, faith, and forward motion.
If addiction is a disease, relapse shouldn’t shock us.
It should inform us.
Addiction didn't start with substances.
It started with misplaced trust.
If your current habits guaranteed the same life 5 years from now,
would you be satisfied?

Ever wonder if your faith is strong enough to keep you sober?
Or if you're even saved?
I’ve had those moments.. especially in the quiet, heavy places of recovery and life. When it feels like I’m barely hanging on. When the prayers feel weak, and the temptations feel loud. And sometimes, the guilt of not “doing enough” spiritually piles on top of the weight I’m already carrying.
That’s why this quote from R.C. Sproul speaks so deeply:
“We are secure, not because we hold tightly to Jesus, but because He holds tightly to us.”
There’s real comfort in that. The kind of comfort that doesn't come from hype or wishful thinking.. but from doctrine rooted in who God is.
We aren’t held in place by the strength of our resolve, or the perfection of our performance.
We are held because Christ is faithful, even when we waver.
John 10:28 reminds us that no one can sn**ch us out of His hand.
That includes ourselves.
That includes relapse.
That includes the days we feel like imposters or outsiders in our own story.
Recovery often brings us face to face with our weakness. And I have recently come face to face with some of my own.. But if that weakness drives us to the strength of Christ, then we’re on solid ground.
His grip doesn’t loosen.
His love doesn’t fluctuate.
And His promise remains..
He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.
If you’re in a season where your faith feels fragile, take heart. The anchor is not your ability to hold on.. but the One who already holds you.
You’re not alone in this.
You’re not forgotten.
You’re not lost.
You’re secure...
You're held.
