I'd like to make an advocacy pamphlet

For all different types of things and needs.

This would be a pamphlet that would be used year round and easily accessible at my salon.

Things that could help new moms, things that would help the LGBTQIA+ community, recovery, loss, su***de prevention, of course pregnancy loss and child loss and so on.

So I'm trying my best to collect as much information and then put it all together so I can use this pamphlet or binder and have it at a moment's notice.

I would like that the year 2023 brings people together, have unity, and resources.

I love when kiddos visit 😍
I try my best to make my environment kid friendly. Knowing what it can be like to take a little to an appointment and be praying that they don't jack up the business 😂
The hope is, they get used to me and then in turn get to be comfortable in my salon chair later!
All I ever ask, is to try and bring an extra adult for any child under the age of 6/7, if the booked appointment is for the adult (especially for color appointments) and not the child. All hands on deck type of life when you have a kid!
Also, I always try my best to make sure that kid appointments or appointments that require a parent to bring a kid and extra adult, don't intersect with a regular adult appointment that doesn't have kids. I know how important it is that some people need that quiet time at their appointments. Some may be parents themselves and just need a moment for themselves. So I will always ask to make sure it's ok if the appointments cross paths.
Here is the newest little I met this week! She held her mama and Oma's hands as emotional support, while they had their eyebrows waxed 😂

TW: child loss... Giving back is fundamental...
October is the month of awareness of pregnancy, infant and child loss. Though in reality, the awareness never ends. Especially for the parents and loved ones that have experienced this kind of loss.
A friend of mine posted a picture on her social media, saying that those people are not alone. THEY ARE NOT. Sadly, I can say I know a mom and dad that has lost a child at all stages in pregnancy and life, my family has also experienced this. It something that I carry with a purpose, to educate, console and help others, when I can.
My dear friends, Sarama and Mike, had a beautiful baby boy, that was born sleeping on 12/28/18. It was unexpected and heartbreaking, but through this experience I have been educated in so much about infant loss. You may hear me talk about Sammy Lamby ❤️ and that is our dear Samuel Emerson Rizzo. Not a day goes by that I don't think of his amazingness.
Through we all have our pink and blue bracelets in memory of our dear little boy. We have Sammy Lamby, who is with Sarama and Mike; Sammy Tiger and Sammy Elephant, as well. They have their homes with Ahmias and Roland. We will forever spread the love of Sammy 💕 his name will never be silenced.
This is the SECOND ANNUAL fundraiser at my salon, honoring Sammy, his family and all the other little babies gone too soon. I will soon post the dedication list of babies and children for this year 🥺❤️
From November 15th to December 31st, 2022 proceeds from every appointment with me, will be collected towards a lump sum donation to the Western NY Perinatal Bereavement Group. and have started the donation at $100. This donation, in total, will be made in Sammy's name ❤️
is so excited to have anyone participate, because the funds will help future loved ones that need guidance during a difficult time.

As a hair stylist, change can be nerve wrecking. Shoot! Any kind of change in life is nerve wrecking. But if we don't challenge ourselves to change, then how do we learn, grow and succeed?
I am here to formally announce that I have left my long time home of Park Ave Trends. ❤️ This is a place where I have had clients tell me their deep dark secrets, where I made memories, consoled clients during tough times, got them ready for huge life events, HUGE belly laughs; last but not least, made a life long friendship with the owner, Hollie Guadalupe .
It's amazing how 10 years just flew by and I was just a small, budding hairstylist. I want to deeply thank Hollie, for opening up her heart, home and business to me. I grew more than I ever thought I would. I also gained a second family through her, that has stuck with me through good and bad times. ❤️ Thank you.
It was a hard decision to make, and took some deep personal soul searching of what step I needed to take in my career. I had so many deep moments of being scared it may be the wrong choice. I had to sit and think if it was right. Then I realized over analyzing this decision may rob me of an opportunity to seize the day.
So here I sit today, in my new studio, as a one woman show. I want to thank everyone that has been a loyal client, family and/or friend throughout my whole life and career. (This is starting to sound like an Oscar speech). If it wasn't for all of you, and Hollie, to continue to push and challenge my skills, I would not be here today. ❤️

Last year I had a list of names of babies that it was dedicated to. I will keep that list of names and add more.

Mine, is to make people feel empowered, encouraged and informed.
In a VERY short amount of time, my community of friends, family and clients rallied for a young child they don't even know. They raised $325, that's 8 salon visits. To help encourage and empower this young girl.
What is life without love but not just love for the ones close to you, but the ones around you. I saw this in action yesterday and today and it's so humbling to know I am surrounded by amazing people.
This young child has already experienced more in their personal life than most adults. So to let her know that my salon can now be a safe place to be herself and enjoy some time away from the craziness of life, is well worth it!!!

So here we are! Half way mark is this week 😃‼️
With that said, I'm planning as best as possible to meet your needs as dedicated clients you all are.
My plan is to take my maternity leave, starting Monday, January 30, 2023. So my last working day is 1/28/23 (Saturday).
As many of you know, babies have timelines up their own so this is just a projected date. My due date is Valentine's Day but I would like a couple weeks to prepare for the arrival of this new little boy.
Please plan accordingly and book all your appointments ahead of time, as I don't know how long I want to take maternity leave yet. I will be transitioning from one child to children so the leave may be a little longer than the last time after I had Ahmias.
I will continuously post updates on my Instagram and social media accounts along with the emails I send out.

The food will be be donated to a few local free food stands ! ❤️ I myself over the years have used food stands, food cupboards and other local food programs to feed myself. When you have the chance to pay it forward, it feels so good. I will collect the food and do 2 drop offs, one by mid August, one at the end of August. All depends on the amount of donations 💕

I wanted to say that on my personal Facebook account I posted our of spite, a screenshot. It was of a man trying to sexualize my professional headshots. Probably wasn't the best choice because I also tagged him in the post. So I added unnecessary drama to my personal page.

With that said, the man threatened my business and business account in rebuttal. So please if you see anything that looks false about me or the salon, please let me know.

I have reported the threatening comments l, untagged the man and so on.

It was probably not the best choice to act out of spite but I do not stand for misogynistic behavior on any day.

Just because May is over ..
Doesn't mean mental health awareness just ends. It's all the time.
The last few weeks have been busy at the salon and lots of major family events.
After the close call car accident on Tuesday, I have chosen to take the rest of this work week off. I chose this, so I can reconnect with my family and calm my nerves. I also have an important date to my heart coming up, so I am dealing with that, Angel baby's supposed due date. The last bullet on this graphic has always been a tough one for me. We live in a society that makes us have guilt for choosing ourselves and family over the business. So I am working hard on breaking that habit and guilt.
I had a lot of mental stuff happening during the month of May and it was one thing after another. So I never got to sit and relax and unpack the feelings. This week I am doing so.
I am working a wedding on June 4th, and will resume salon appointments during the day and evening, starting June 7th. I will open all day availability on my online booking site.
