We had a great weekend! The Crossley/Wampler family would like to thank you for coming out to enjoy the show, despite the rain. Thursday and Friday were dry even though it rained all around. Yesterday, however, was a different story. Thank you to our volunteers, DJ CWB, Modern Blacksmith, and Wayne County Tourism for their support this weekend!

I would say, overall, our truck numbers were close to last year BUT there were SO many more people at the swap meet! There seemed to be more spectators (determined by the number of cars in the spectator parking) and there were many more trailers and campers. For us to maintain good truck numbers with rainy weather speaks volumes and we are happy that those of you that did come, had a good time.

Pictures of this years event will be posted over the coming days. It’ll take a while to go through all of them!

We are always open to making improvements so we will be working on making changes for next year’s event. We will have this year’s Midwest Truck Nationals winners featured inside the Blue building again! We will also be posting merchandise online on MidwestTruckNationals.com in the near future. You can watch for updates there as well.

This CNC Dinosaur holding a Chevrolet Bow tie will be raffled off at the show. All proceeds from this raffle goes directly to the 4-H group that helps to put this show on!

Who doesn’t love FOOD? Check out some of the local restaurants that Richmond has to offer while you’re in town! Please make sure to also support our local food trucks that will be on the grounds. We are sooo thankful that they can be part of our event!

NOTES:
—CAMPING: please notice that you will park on the far south side of the grounds along the fence. There are plenty of hookups there. Please pay the camping fee at registration.
—CONCERT FRIDAY NIGHT: note the building circled in red; the concert will be on that stage if the weather is good. Please bring chairs!! If the event is moved due to weather, it will be moved to the R***r Center (registration building).

New to our event this year: Pics by RIP!
We will have our normal photographers on site taking pictures of our event for hire. Those photographers take pictures on behalf of the event so we can share photos online with all of you. Pics by RIP takes professional photos of your vehicle and prints those pictures for you while you wait. Their prices are reasonable and they have several options to chose from. Feel free to reach out to them with questions!
They will be stationed near the drive-thru judging area.

WE ARE THREE WEEKS AWAY FROM THE EVENT! Below is a FAQ sheet to help with any questions you may have.

This is Tim Crossley. I regret to inform everyone that the dirt drags will NOT happen on Saturday night. The organization that had made the commitment baled on us June 28th. It was short notice to say the least! As soon as I found out, I started to work with another Organization that puts on dirt drags however they decided they simply don’t have enough time to make it happen for us. Please understand we want the dirt drag event to be impressive and not a last minute blunder.

All this said, the organization that tried to come to our rescue has a firm commitment to put on the dirt drag event at our 2023 show. I am sorry but this is simply out of our control. ******ALL OTHER PLANNED EVENTS WILL BE AS SCHEDULED*******

we have decided that we will add all of the new shirts/hats to the website after the show.

A new part of our event this year will be a LIVE concert Friday evening (August 5th) from 8:30-10:30PM at the fairgrounds featuring Hank Ruff and the Hellbenders!

Hank Ruff and the Hellbenders are a great group and some of their songs can be found on YouTube and on iTunes. Hank and his band are excited to play at our event!! Visit HankRuff.com or search for him on FB to learn more about his music.

**For the record, the Crossley family did have to pay for the band but this concert is FREE with admission to the fairgrounds for the weekend!!! We hope you enjoy it!

I wanted to share last year’s winner’s! This year, we are asking these trucks (and their owners) to join us as featured vehicles for the event. If they come out to this year’s event, they will park inside near registration.

As a side note, if you’re a winner from last year and I have not contacted you, please message the page or text me at 765-238-3067. Having “featured” trucks was a thought we had AFTER the 2021 event so we don’t have everyone’s contact information. Moving forward, this will be an annual thing and we will always have last year’s winners inside.

A couple of us will be at the Kentucky Truck Invasion / Corbin Rod Run today! We are passing out some flyers while we are here to spread the word about our event. We hope to see some familiar faces as well!
Unfortunately, we didn’t bring a truck this year. Instead, we brought an empty trailer and picked up a truck for a friend on the way to Corbin. 🙂

Here is the information regarding hotels that I received from the Richmond/Wayne County Convention & Tourism Bureau (thank you to them for their help).

There is also camping available on the grounds with water, electric, and a shower facility. Cost for camping is $30/night and we will collect the money at the event. Message us or comment if you have questions!

We are just 94 days away from the Midwest Truck Nationals and the Square Body Farm: 73-87 Chevy & GMC Annual Truck Gathering!! I am working on getting some hotel discounts courtesy of the Old National Road Welcome Center staff. I will post as soon as I know more about those possible discounts.

Also, don’t forget that we strongly encourage people to bring any extra parts or trucks that they wish to sell!!!

Attention Square Body Fans: here is the back of one of our Square Body shirts this year! There will also be a design on the left chest (like normal) and one on the right sleeve. This particular design will be available in blue and orange.
August 5th & 6th will be here before we know it!
