📣 FALL NEWS from Pete: Mary and I have just returned from our big western buying trip. The initial round of over 2 tons of new specimens will be first displayed on Saturday, September 24th. Out of an abundance of caution, The Enchanted Rock Garden is temporarily closed as someone who was in the shop Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, has tested positive for COVID.

We will be taking this time for the team to isolate themselves and get tested, as well as to have the shop professionally sanitized.

Good news for the Rock Garden Faithful from resident geologist/rock tycoon/owner extraordinaire Pete...we will open our doors (albeit in a different way than before) THURSDAY, MAY 28!

To ensure safety and compliance with state initiatives concerning the virus, we have devised the rules below for shopping. Please read before come so you are prepared for the new shop experience, and be patient as we negotiate this new system together.

Although most of these requirements are antithetical to our typical customer service, non-compliance can result in fines up to $5000 and/or closure. 😬

To start, our hours will be limited to Thursday through Sunday from 12 - 5p.

Customers must wear masks. No mask, no entry.

During open hours, please maintain 6-foot distance.

No more than 10 people in the shop at one time. This includes staff.

Take a number for checkout, and do not congregate by the counter. Individual numbers will be called for checkout.

If there are people waiting outside in line to come in, shopping will be limited to 20 minutes. This will allow others to enter.

Please observe and obey the marked 6-foot intervals while waiting outside the shop.

Our in-house reference books will not be available to limit surface exposures.

The fluorescent room and children's box will be closed to prevent close contact.

We will be operating with reduced staffing, which will impact our ability to assist you individually.

The best use of the shop will be for customers who know what they want or require little assistance, as we will be operating with reduced staffing.

While all of us at the Rock Garden truly enjoy our young collectors, only one child at a time will be allowed in the shop and all will require adult supervision. Please, for now, do not bring children under 6.

We are fortunate to have short wave ultraviolet lamps (part of a good geologist's tool kit!) and will be sanitizing all specimens and surfaces nightly.

Opening under these conditions is painful, but if you can comply, please come by, all of us miss you dearly. 🥰
