You've probably seen crape myrtles with the tops of all their branches cut off. "Topping" isn't considered a proper way to prune because it affects the plant's shape (creating more upright sprouts as it grows back), leaves large areas of exposed wood, and can increase future maintenance requirements. Topped crape myrtles also bloom later than others.
If planted in full sun in a location with plenty of room for plant growth, crape myrtle is a low maintenance plant needing little or no maintenance!
Learn more about what's wrong with topping here:https://hort.ifas.ufl.edu/woody/documents/CrapeMyrtlePruning.pdf
Incorrect pruning: topping crape myrtles ruins the natural form of the plant.
Instead: use naturalistic pruning to remove small twigs (or leave unpruned).

Enjoy the finishing touches on a dry stacked fire pit that one of our crews recently completed! The fire pit is a quaint focal point for the client’s outdoor space. Now the family can comfortably gather around the fire pit to enjoy each other’s company and maybe even a smore 🍫 or two this summer. Our @gorilla_carts hauled the brown stone surrounding the fire pit🔥 with ease. Call us today so that we can begin helping you transform your outdoor space!🌳🌼🌷🌹

What a beautiful week! Warmer Weather and clear skies allowed us to mow quite a bit this week! I am so proud and grateful for such a great group of guys on our team this year. Huge shoutout to each of them! We hope everyone has a great weekend! Time to tuck everything away for a few days of rest and then back at it next week. 💪💪🙌

A huge thank you going out to all of our clients for their patience the last several weeks! It has been a wet 🌧 start to mowing season so far this year! We are grateful for each and every one of you! Back to the grind tomorrow! 💪 ☀️
It was a productive Monday for us! We hope the rest of you had a great start to the work week as well! We installed a topsoil/compost mix to the bed space around this home and then finished it off with a good coat of black dyed mulch. Our @gorilla_carts wheelbarrows have had quite the workout so far this Spring. The lawn is looking really nice too - with help from our @brinlyhardyco spreader. Stay safe y’all!
Start ‘em young 😎🤙🏻
A cloudy morning made it a little hard to see but not a bad turn out for the first mow of the season on this lawn! We overseeded this yard last fall and applied pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide earlier this year—note the yellowing of unwanted weeds in this photo. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
First and foremost, we are thinking about all
of you. We are both privileged and thankful to have so many personal relationships with our clients. With that being said, the last few weeks have been an immensely trying time for all of us. Unprecedented situations like this can be difficult for everyone involved. We would like each of you to know where we stand moving forward.
Through the COVID-19 outbreak, landscaping and lawn businesses have been deemed as essential services. We, too, agree with this statement. However, we believe it is our moral and civic responsibility to continue the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our clients, our employees, and our families.
For the remainder of the week, we will operate at minimal capacity and provide only maintenance services in an effort to maximize our social distance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will continue to provide the best service we are able to given the current circumstances. We will re-evaluate our efforts over the weekend as the situation progresses.
We ask that each of you please be patient with us as we all continue to formulate a plan through the coming weeks. We encourage each of you to be mindful of your neighbor and to take time to yourself to reflect on what is unfolding. Please know that we will be there for each of you, just as we have previously, but it is necessary that we all do what we can for one another.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
