I’m normally super anti on magnetic liner lol it creeps me out! Now, a second liquid based liner was released Tuesday that doubles as a magic liner for these lashes but also has iron oxide so that it will work with any magnetic lashes as well...

Regardless what any politician says, I don’t expect anyone to be able to offer (or wear 😭) professional lash extensions before they summer. Things could change, but in the meantime, I need my lashes! And this is what’s up.

🦠 COVID-19 Update!
In the state of Virginia, Governor Northam has tentatively approved salons and spas to reopen on May 8. Hooray! Now, truth be told, this is the second extension on this date by the governor, so we will see.

When we are ready to open safely, I will be in contact with you to schedule your appointments and get you back together.

In the meantime, relax, get some rest, scream out loud... whatever it takes to keep you chill during this confusing and kinda scary time.

COVID-19 😷 I wanted to take a moment to touch base with you and let you know how we are responding to the Coronavirus here at Plush Wink.

First, how ARE you?

Check in with yourself... it’s totally ok to be totally freaked out, and it’s totally ok to NOT be totally freaked out! The situation is complicated, and it’s totally ok for your feelings to be a little whacked out right now.

With regards to beauty appointments... I’ve been keeping mine... estheticians and hairdressers are required by law to uphold strict sanitation guidelines, and as lash artists, we at Plush Wink always practice high levels of sanitation... so I’ve been going to my own appointments in salons I know and already trust with my health.

Keeping in mind strict sanitation guidelines- including excessive hand washing, hospital grade disinfectants, constant protection and cleaning of surfaces, etc- Plush Wink will continue to do business through Wednesday, March 18.

As of Thursday, March 19, Plush Wink will be closed through March 29, or until new information becomes available.

I have been carefully monitoring the recommendations of the CDC and federal and local governments, and this has been a very difficult decision for me to make. I know that Plush Wink is a highly sanitary and safe environment, with very low foot traffic. I will be losing a substantial part of my own income with this closure...

BUT I am sure that in order to help prevent the spread of this virus that can endanger the lives of so many, we all must dramatically limit the time we spend in public environments, and thereby dramatically reduce the amount of exposure in our communities.

So this is what will happen:
- my books are currently closed to all new clients through Mid-April
- if you are scheduled to see me before March 29, you are welcome to contact me to reschedule THIS WEEK, through Wednesday.
- please do NOT come into the studio if you have ANY symptoms of any illness, and/or if you have travelled outside of the country since March 5, 2020
- when the virus situation has smoothed out or whatever, I will do your full set of lashes (if needed) at your regular fill-in rate.

I haven’t talked much with you yet this year, and it’s not you, it’s 💯 me.

Honestly? The beginning of this year has been rough... I’m literally exhausted, cranky, sleepy, bored... I’m BURNED OUT!!

The holidays were so intense and busy and crazy this year, and I’m so grateful for it, but also resentful of all the labor and stress and anxiety and the whole lot of what it takes to support a busy holiday season...

Bc, you know, you work hard for some things, and when you get them, they’re just too big for you to handle. And it’s ok.

I’ve been re-centering, re-balancing, re-covering, re-directing all the energy that has built up and knocked me over.

But I wanted to remind you, you know, I keep seeing these motivational quotes from our recently taken Kobe, and I love them, but I know they’re hard for some of us to implement... no body is looking for your or me to blow them away with our talent and dedication. There’s no multi-million dollar contracts looking for us. And that’s ok too.

I’m giving myself permission to rest and re-assess, and if you need permission for ANYTHING, and you know you can give it to yourself, and you want to, but you’re still scared... it’s ok. I give you permission. I give you all the permission to give yourself the permission to do whatever the f**k you need to do to keep your head on and your energy intentional.

I see you. Don’t quit.
