Wine, Craft Beer, Gourmet Food, and more! Online Ordering, Curbside Pick-up, and Local Delivery Make every day an occasion at The Wine Cabinet!
In October 2003, two local, former Marriott executives with a love of wine and people saw a need for an independently owned wine shop in Reston. They envisioned a shop that would provide a selection of wine and craft beer to fit every palate and price point while also providing a place for the community to gather. Our motto has always been, “We’re here to help our friends, one bottle at a time.”

Looking for the perfect late summer wine? We found it! 🍷
We've featured this wine a few summers ago, and it's everything you want in a summer red. Points, tasty, and pairs with almost everything! Come by to taste from 3-8PM and take home a few bottles of this great wine, at a great price!

NEW in-store Cabernet from Martin Ray with two sets of Points! 🍷
Earthy and structured with elderberry, dried cherries, and blackberry with touches of walnuts and resin, Synthesis has all the notes of a Napa Cabernet. Plush red fruits and currants, layered with fine herbs and wet stone. Full and steadfast, its bright acidity is balanced by well-integrated tannins, with a hint of cocoa and caramel on the finish. This wine is a great buy at the price point and drinks up!

Ciders! 🍎
Looking for something different on a hot day? We have some new ciders in from 1911 in New York and the bubbles and dryness help combat the last of the hot days of summer. Try the original for a classic taste or cherry for a fun twist!

Sip & Tip! 🍷
🍇 Roland Champion is a small champagne grower who also produces and bottles all products grown on their estate. The house was founded in 1929 by André Champion, who created his vineyard in the famous Cote des Blancs area of Chouilly, some of the best soils for the Chardonnay grape. Today Champagne Roland Champion is run by Roland’s son François, third generation of the family. He is the winemaker, and he runs the winery with the help of his family, including his fourth-generation daughters Carole and Clémence.
🍇During Rande's last trip to France, he tasted the entire Roland lineup and brought back his favorites, including a Zero Dosage Champagne. What does this mean? In traditional champagne methods, a small amount of "dosage" is added right before bottling to add in extra fermentation. Dosage is usually a sweet, alcoholic liquid, and wines without dosage are much, much drier.
🍇 If no dosage at all is added, the bubbly can be called “zero-dosage” or “brut nature” or “sauvage.” These wines can be aggressively crisp and tart, and for those that prefer super dry wines, this is a great champagne option.

On the hunt for your new favorite wine? Come taste the Reynolds Cabernet tonight - it's one of The Wine Cabinets favorite bigger Cabs🍷
Our lineup includes 2 whites, 2 reds, and 2 beers! Come taste and take advantage of our tasting table discount from 4-7:30 PM.

BACK by popular demand! 🍷

What's not to love about an easy drinking red blend? With 2 sets of Points, the critics agree that this is a wine that drinks UP!
Call or shop in-store. With our special 6 bottle deal, it's $99 for 6 bottles!

Wine and a positive attitude! 🍷

Sip & Tip! 🍇
🍷 This hot weather has us reaching for wine that is crisp and cool. Soave fits the bill for hot temps and goes with just about everything. Soave is a very old region with grown grapes in the volcanic hills near Verona since Roman times. The primary grape of Soave, Garganega, is considered one of the great white wines of Italy, but is still a grape that we consider "undervalued". The family winemakers of Corte Adami have been producing Soave for many years and their wine is a staff favorite example of Soave!
🍷 The most common flavors of Soave wine are Peach, Honeydew, Citrus Zest, Sweet Marjoram, and a subtle note of saltiness. Soave is a dry, light-bodied wine, much like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris, but it often has a smooth oily-like richness that adds a little extra punch!
🍷 Soave pairs incredibly with rich Italian Seafood. Think along the lines of clams and gnocchi, squid ink linguini, scallops, and risotto. This will guarantee you’ll find a perfect match! Due to its body and acidity, Soave is also drinkable on its own.

Wings and Wine? Yes! 🍷
For , here are a few pairings for classic wings that we enjoy. If Riesling isn't your thing, we also like Sauvignon Blanc with Buffalo!

Sip & Tip! 🍇
🍷 While Pinot Grigio may be the King of Italian white wines, there is so much more to love about single varietals from Italy. Especially from Piedmont - the Northwest corner of Italy, the top producer of wines in the country.
🍷 Traditionally, white wines from Piedmont have always been single varietal and Arneis is no exception. Arneis, once nicknamed “White Barolo”, is the comeback kid of Piemonte – it was on the verge of extinction in the 1970s but, thanks to a handful of dedicated wineries, it has made an impressive recovery.
🍷 Arneis is normally medium-bodied, displaying a rounded and somewhat waxy mouthfeel. If you like Pinot Gris you’ll find Arneis intriguing as well. Arneis’ acidity is moderate, unlike many other white Italian grape varieties. And even though its aromatic bouquet might suggest a sweeter profile, Arneis is traditionally crafted as a dry wine. Arneis pairs beautifully with light proteins and dishes that incorporate elements like roasted fruits, nuts, citrus, or fragrant herbs like sage or thyme, which compliment its aromatic character.

Looking for something new to sip this summer? We've got a full lineup stocked and ready! 🍺

Sip & Tip! 🍷
🍇 Thomas Brown may not be a name that many are familiar with, but he is behind some of the biggest names in wine. Brown started at Turley Wines and now works for several labels. Over the last decade, Brown has received more 100-point scores than any other Napa Valley winemaker.
🍇 Unlike some Napa winemakers, Brown doesn't solely focus on Cabernets. His wine expertise expands to Pinots, Zinfandels, and other red varietals. Brown is responsible for 800 tons of grapes from 325 acres going into some 150 wines and has even designed several wineries.
🍇 We've lined up some of our favorite wines from Thomas Brown - Post Parade is a crowd favorite that is sure to please!

At The Wine Cabinet, we start wine education early. Kids (and dogs) are always welcome!

🍇 Let's talk about some of The Wine Cabinet's favorite wines, which happen to be made by Kirk Venge. If you don't know Kirk, his wines speak for themselves. One of the most prominent winemakers in and around Napa Valley, Kirk consults for some of the best and biggest brands in Napa wine. Kirk also has a few of his own labels.
🍇 The Venge portfolio is filled with big, bold wines that grab attention. Hunnicutt and Sky Devil are some of our favorites - both Napa Cabernets that pair well with food and are great bottles for any and all special occasions.

Are you joining us for tonight's tasting? You should, as we have a great lineup featuring some of our new favorite wines! 🍷
Steve is pouring tonight and will be talking about why these wines are great for summer! Since it's Friday, we also have our beer tasting 🍻
Check out our events page for more details.

We've got a deal for today! 🍷
A Bordeaux-style blend from Washington State, we are loving this red blend! With 91 Points from James Suckling, this wine goes great with almost anything. Limited quantities, so call or stop by to pick up a bottle (or 6).

Sip & Tip! 🍷
🍇 While Sancerre and the Loire Valley are known as the birthplace of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir is also planted in the region. The two grapes have similar climate needs, which makes sense why they are often planted together.
🍇Jean Reverdy's Rosé is made from 100% Pinot Noir, grown in the Sancerre region, which gives the wine a bright minerality. Pinot Noir makes a great Rosé, providing dryness, fresh fruit, and a clean finish.
🍇When pairing with food, think of all the usual suspects (chicken, sharp cheeses) along with spicier foods. The Pinot notes, along with the minerality and chilled temperature, help cut through spicy dishes. Cheers!

Sunday vibe check 🍷

Come taste another one of Rande's French finds today! 🍷
Domaine de la Mordoree is a female-operated winery with a female winemaker! This wine hits all the right notes - tasty, great price point, pairs with almost anything, and organic! We're pouring till 8PM tonight.

Looking for a mid-week wine? Try this Rioja Rosado from Cude! 🍷
We had this on the tasting table last week and it's the perfect rose for with lots of bright notes, and summer sippability!

Sip & Tip! 🍇
🍷 Turley needs no introduction. As one of the most prominent growers of single varietals (mostly Zinfandel), the winery focuses on preserving California's unique wine heritage. Turley focuses mainly on Zinfandel but also grows Petite Syrah and a few other varietals. The winery sustains an all-organic practice and was one of the first to do so.
🍷 Turley makes their wines from old vine Zinfandel, which is more concentrated in flavor and produces fewer grapes per harvest. This means old vine Zinfandel uses more grapes to make the same amount of wine as newer vines.
🍷 We've been loving the 2021 Buck Cobb. The aromas of red florals and fruits, orange zest, and spicy finish really stand up to strong foods. With grilling weather in full swing, this is perfect wine for anything grilled!

Our thoughts exactly! It's time to move the party inside 😁

🎂Anniversary release 3 of 4: Labor Days
⛏️Labor Days is a corn lager collab with our friends at and . We all love corn lagers, and for this one we wanted to go all out. A combination of heirloom red, white, and blue corn malt was selected in honor of the American brewing spirit, before a double decoction and light touch of hops. The beer was spunded for natural carbonation and then lagered for six weeks, and has the unrivaled taste of a beer well-earned after a long day of work.
Our anniversary beers each involved a multi-collab with some of the best producers we admire, and exemplify the array of styles and approaches we have strived for over the years and the path we have traveled to get here. We hope you enjoy them! Beers release Friday, party is on Saturday, no tickets required.

Join us this afternoon and meet the Matchbook winemaker!
🍷 We're tasting a full lineup till 8PM so join us to taste and learn from the winemaker himself

New in-store! 🍷

We agree 🍷

New wine! 🎉
We're loving this Rasi Cabernet from Whitehall Lane!
This wine is exquisitely balanced with excellent fruit concentration. On the nose, this wine offers bing cherries, cassis, dried cranberries, black cherry cola, mixed berry jam, and a touch of brioche. The palate offers plush but delicate tannins, sweet black plums, strawberry rhubarb pie, red raspberry coulis, toasted bread, and cocoa dust that lingers on the finish.
When pairing, think about our traditional Cabernet foods - Steak, hearty meat dishes, and strong cheeses. 🍷
