Wine, Craft Beer, Gourmet Food, and more! Online Ordering, Curbside Pick-up, and Local Delivery In October 2003, two local, former Marriott executives with a love of wine and people saw a need for an independently owned wine shop in Reston.
They envisioned a shop that would provide a selection of wine and craft beer to fit every palate and price point while also providing a place for the community to gather. Our motto has always been, “We’re here to help our friends, one bottle at a time.”
Since then, The Wine Cabinet has been dedicated to serving Reston and surrounding communities with a fun and welcoming yet knowledgeable staff. O
Operating as usual
It's all fun and games at The Wine Cabinet!
Our games and puzzles flew out the door last time they were in stock, so if you're looking for Easter gifts for the wine lover in your life, look no further! And yes, our stance on Easter is that adults deserve Easter Baskets too. 🐰
We're getting ready for the weekend over here at TWC! 🎉
This Saturday, we're featuring wines from the boutique winery Dogwood & Thistle. Having tasted these wines a few weeks ago when the owner visited the shop, we love these wines and are excited to have them on the tasting table! Our lineup this weekend is as follows:
- Friday, 5-8PM: Mari is pouring a lineup that includes Loveblock (the original Kim Crawford) + beer night at TWC
-Saturday, 1-5Pm: Christina is pouring all Dogwood & Thistle wines
As always, everything on the tasting table is 10% off! We'll see this weekend 🍷
Sip & Tip! 🍷
Looking for a great cabernet that won't break the bank on a weeknight? Arrowood Cabernet is one of our top-selling Cabs and with good reason - it's bright and juicy and doesn't need food to stand out. If thinking about food pairing, this wine does it all. From wings to steak, Arrowood pairs well with just about anything, thanks to its balanced profile and tannins. Arrowood makes wine exclusively in Sonoma County, hence the balanced profile. With 90 Points from Jeb Dunnuck and around $30 a bottle, Arrowood is a wine that drinks up or down!
Looking for things to do this weekend? Well, we have tastings on Friday and Saturday so stop by and sample!
🍻On Friday, it's beer night at The Wine Cabinet! We'll be pouring 4 beers, in addition to a wine lineup.
🍷On Saturday, Fabio will be in-store pouring some new wines and some of our favorite Italians in a new vintage.
As always, everything on the tasting table is 10% off, and if you mix & match a case from the tasting table, you get a discount of 15% off! See you this weekend.
At The Wine Cabinet, the answer is always yes 🍷

This week is our 5th anniversary of carrying Commonwealth Brewing Company, so we are celebrating! 🎉
We have an all Commonwealth beer tasting for our Friday night beer lineup from 4-8PM (3/18). Natalie will be pouring four different beers from Commonwealth. Five years ago, Commonwealth was a small, boutique brewery and we were one of the first retailers in the state to start carrying their creations. We've loved to see how Commonwealth has grown and pushed the boundaries of IPAs and Stouts.
While we don't have any green wine for today, we do have a great deal! 🍀🍷
Today's Open Bottle Thursday is The House of Ogier Lirac. The Ogier family has been making wine in France since 1859 and has become one of the premier winemakers for the Lirac Region. This Rhone blend is silky and deep red, with cherry notes and mild spices. Today's price is $18 a bottle, which is over 25% off our normal price! This wine pairs nicely with red meats so stock up for the upcoming Summer cookouts.
Snow day means a fun day at The Wine Cabinet! ❄️
We're still tasting today, thanks to Jim who is venturing out and will be pouring for the tasting table today. Winter beers are 20% off today, since this may be the last time you can drink a stout on a snowy day. In the meantime, please enjoy this artistic take on today's tasting lineup 😁
You asked and we listened! We're back to a full lineup on the tasting table every Friday and Saturday! 🍷 Details on what we're pouring below 👇
The Weekend Wine-d up is the perfect opportunity to taste new wines, as we'll have a different wine professional in on Fridays and Saturdays. This means you get to try 10 wines every weekend, all at 10% off! We've also added an additional discount - if you buy a case (mix & match) of wines off the tasting table, you'll get 15% off! That's an additional 5% off our normal case discount (15% off applies only to wines on the tasting table).
Here's what we're pouring this weekend:
- Friday: Klaus will be pouring our Austrian favorites
- Saturday: Jim pours great buys on a budget from California and Washington
Happy !🍷
We are thrilled to announce that we now carry Wonderment Wines from California. WW is a boutique, small production, high-quality winery with a female winemaker! Stephanie Cook, the mastermind behind these fantastic wines, started her career as an international model before moving to the food industry with a successful catering business. She spent many years pursuing her passion of becoming a winemaker by working in the vineyards and wineries in California and New Zealand. Her wines focus on the specific terroir that gives them a unique style and distinction. The logo on the Wonderment Wines shows a unicycle and a corkscrew to show that all wines should be balanced with finesse. We hope to get Stephanie in the shop in the near future to pour these fabulous wines so you can meet this talented and gifted winemaker! Stop by to pick up a bottle of our favorite, the Pinot Noir.
Sip & Tip! 🍷
With the weather slowing warming up, it's time to turn our sights to wines that are made for patio sipping. Sancerre is often thought to be one of the greatest white wines, but tends to live in obscurity. Did you know that Sancerre is 100% Sauvignon Blanc? Sancerre is a small section of the Loire Valley, which is the birthplace of Sauvignon Blanc. For centuries, Sauvignon Blanc was only grown in this region, till being overtaken by New Zealand in the late 90s. While they have similar character profiles to your favorite Sauv Blanc, Sancerre is medium-full to full-bodied and can be both unoaked or oaked. Sancerre also trends towards more complex notes, rather than the grassy, tropical fruit notes you always get in a Sauvignon Blanc. Next time you think about Sauvignon Blanc, try a Sancerre instead - especially with food.
We're feeling a little green these days! 🍀
With just over a week left before St. Paddy's Day, stop by to shop our hand-painted glasses!
Hip, hip, hooray, it's the weekend! 🎉
Our weekend wine tastings start today (Friday 3/4) and we'll be pouring through Saturday. Today's tasting lineup is all South African. We have one of our favorite Chenin Blancs on the table, along with a great red blend! On Saturday, we're featuring a fantastic Pinot with 93 Points from Wine Enthusiast! The Walt Blue jay Pinot Noir is a favorite and will be 10% off, along with all other wines on the tasting table. Stop by from 4-8PM tonight and 1-5PM on Saturday!

We've featured Charles Smith's Substance Cabernet from Jack's Vineyard twice now on our Weekend Wine-d up so we thought it deserved some proper attention!
Since coming to the shop, this bottle has become a staff and customer favorite, thanks to its Walla Walla Valley characteristics. 2017 (which is the vintage in-store now) was a fantastic year in the Valley and is hailed as a vintage to remember. Thanks to the cooler weather, this wine has balanced tannins and a smooth layer of acidity. Drinkable and approachable, this cabernet is going to be different from a Napa Cab - but in a good way! As Charles Smith says, this is a wine that "proclaims it is from Washington".
It's time for the weekend Wine-d up! We're tasting both Friday and Saturday so don't let the rain keep you away.
On Friday, we are opening up one of our favorite Nebbiolo from Vietti. Intense and fruity, this Nebbiolo has some spice and lots of smooth tannins.
Saturday, we are featuring Charles Smith's Substance Jack's Vineyard Cabernet (pictured here). With Points from Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker, and James Suckling, this 2017 Cabernet is a secret stunner! Everything that is part of the Wine-d up is 10% off, as always. Check out the full lineup of what's featured on our website!
New Beers Alert! 🍻🍉
We have two new DuClaw sours in-store and they are delicious if we do say so.
Dark 'N Stormy is a fresh take on a classic, with lots of lime and ginger, finished in Rum barrels.
If you like French 75's, but need a weekday version, Rose Colored Glasses is for you! Made with chardonnay juice and rose water, this sour is a fresh and elevated take on a classic!
Sip & Tip!
Liquid Geography is not only a great Rosé, but also a wine with a purpose. Since February is , let's talk about Liquid Geography and the winemaker's dedication to cancer research.
The wine is a dry rosé made with Mencía grapes from 53 year-old vines in the region of Bierzo in northwest Spain. Mencía grapes are native to the Iberian Peninsula and aren't planted in many other areas. No oak is involved in the aging process, which is one of the reasons why this wine is crisp, dry, and energetic. Thanks to its balanced notes, you can sip this wine all day long (which is why it's always one of our top-selling wines!). Half of all profits are given to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to support cancer care, research, and education, and to Wheeling Forward.
