“We have loved and are so thankful for California Virtual Academies [powered by K12]! Isaiah's been here since TK and has just graduated Kindergarten!
The flexibility has been amazing. He has done school on vacation, in the car, and at home. He has learned so much while being in this program and the teachers have been amazing! He has made some great connections with the monthly meet ups and we are so grateful for that.
Thank you so much CAVA K12! We would recommend them to anyone.”

Can we harness the power of fire to move water?
Light a candle, cover it with a glass, and watch what happens next. The flame goes out, and then the water starts rising into the glass. It looks like magic… but it’s really physics at work.

“K12 has been the best thing ever for me and my situation.
The teachers and staff have all been amazing. The experiences that I’ve had being in K12 have changed me for the better—my grades, understanding, peace, and me coming out of my shell... and me having the space not to be overwhelmed by the overstimulating day-to-day of brick-and-mortar [school], where it was more about the quantity of my work and less about the quality.
But here at TVAH, it has been the opposite, and it has helped me to strive and soar, and I love that. My mindset is in a much better place because of life at K12.”

“The great part about my job is that I teach digital art. So it's all within the computer system. [The online learning platform] has built-in settings where we can share our screen so they can see me actually working. It actually works very well.
We can meet them at their skill level. We offer one-to-one help sessions all the time, and if they ever have any questions, they can call us directly. We definitely have a lot of ways to meet them where they're at.
I love seeing students that don't believe that they're going to like my class because I teach digital art. Then they see that they actually really like the program, that there's so many things that they can do with it.
[Online school] is for everyone. We have athletes. We have artists. We have performance artists. We have it all. It's really whatever you want to make it. You can make this experience work for you."

What if “The Odyssey” was really just the world's worst group project?
A leader with a huge ego. Teammates ignore instructions. One bad decision after another. And somehow a trip that should've taken weeks turned into ten years. Here's how Odysseus and his crew kept finding new ways to make things worse.

“I like virtual public school from home…I can teach [my son] in the style that he thrives in [and] I can give him the one on one attention he needs to help him excel.
He has attended live class while sitting up in a tree or laying on a blanket in the backyard or from a picnic table at a local park. All of these locations have helped minimize his stress to the point he can truly grasp new concepts being taught. This flexibility also allows Kaleb to take brakes instead of having meltdowns.
One day he just attends live classes and then is done for the day, or on another day he does two assignments in most of his courses. The flexibility with online school also allows Kaleb to use the weekends to either catch up or even get a little bit ahead.
Starting at day one of kindergarten, Kaleb has been a student at..K12 powered Washington Virtual Academy. Even though there have been many tears, there have also been many happy dances and high fives.”

Does classical music actually make you smarter? Not exactly. The famous “Mozart Effect” was more about a short-term boost in focus than an increase in intelligence.

“My son was struggling with in person public school due to his ADHD and needing more one on one time to learn. I enrolled him through K12…and he has been excelling ever since. He went from mid to low grades from in person public school to straight A’s since he’s started Virginia Virtual Academy through K12.
Every morning he is excited to start his classes as well as see his friends during LIVE classes. The flexibility K12 allows us is so nice. When my first grader needs to take a break, he can pause what he is doing and then start back where he left off. Starting K12 has also made it a lot easier for us to schedule doctors appointments due to only having certain times during the day for live classes. Due to this, we don’t have to worry about absences because he isn’t missing any school! We also LOVE and appreciate all of his teachers so far that have worked with our son.
The communication is great and they really do care about each child’s education. We definitely will be signing up our 5 year old daughter in Kindergarten through K12 for next school year as well!”
