ANEW is a non-profit organization linking men and women to apprenticeships and livable wage jobs in construction trades, transportation and utilities.
We support men and women of all ages and backgrounds, and the apprenticeships and employers who advocate for their success. ANEW also administers the Apprenticeship Opportunities Project (AOP) for State of Washington residents (women & men) 18 years of age and older. We offer support services and career navigation for men and women who wish to enter into apprenticeship programs.
ANEW was founded in 1980 and has a mission of improving peoples' lives by providing employment navigation, training and support services which lead to family wage careers. ANEW has two major programs: the Trades Rotation Program and the Apprenticeship Opportunity Project. The Trades Rotation Program is a recognized pre-apprenticeship program providing technical skills, industry recognized credentials, soft skills and exposure to occupations and fields. The Apprenticeship Opportunity Project provides case management, employment navigation, support services and retention services to anyone interested in pursuing a career in an apprenticeable occupation. Our goal is for ANEW graduates to successfully gain, retain, and advance in employment in non-traditional industries.http://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/FAS/PurchasingAndContracting/Labor/ApprenticeshipGuidebook.pdf
