While we work to create a world where LGBTQ+ people of all ages can thrive, how do we manage stress? Whether you advocate on behalf of LGBTQ+ folks, are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or both, we all need tools to manage the strain that comes from bumping up against a world that doesn’t always welcome who we are.

This workshop is an experiential exploration of mindfulness practices to manage and reduce stress and build resilience. We will cover the effects of stress and explore techniques to remain present and bring the nervous system into balance. Techniques will include breathing, visualization, and gentle movement. Participants will be encouraged to choose one technique to put into practice in the weeks after the session. Handouts and a journal are included.

It matters to the parents fighting every day to protect and support their kids. It matters to every person who believes in dignity, humanity, and the right to exist without fear.

To those standing up, speaking out, and refusing to stay silent in the face of hatred—thank you. We see you. We stand with you. And we will never stop fighting for a world where our kids are safe, loved, and free to be who they are.
