Redlands Choral Director Kenneth Tuttle
Comments
Before I finish up the video portion, one of our LC sisters had the idea to join each other via zoom, have a lit candle similar to Induction, and record to put in the video.
Concept: Final seconds of the video will show us with our candles lit and we will blow them out together. The last picture will be of Tuttle.
I know this is a short turn around but If you are interested in joining, all you need is a candle (I got mine from the dollar store), a phone/computer and that's it!
I would like to do this call TOMORROW night at 6 PM PST. This way, folks in different time zones can participate. Please message me if you were in LC and are interested in participating.
I will explain further instructions on the Zoom call but please spread the word.
Thank you so much! I believe this will be a beautiful ending to the video of Tuttle.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
One thing Mr Tuttle taught us was friends are friends forever. RIP Kenneth tuttle. Thanks for the memories and lifelong friends.
I did not have the privilege of being around Ken and getting to know him for as long as many of you. I officially (technically) first met him at the RHS Chamber Singers holiday reunion parties in the 1990s when he took the reins after Roger Duffer (I go way back to the class of ’83). I left the Inland Empire in 1989, then moved out of California entirely in 1994, so I was not around to experience his greatness, except for those reunion party encounters. It was not until I finally moved back home to Redlands in 2017, and joined the Redlands Festival Singers, that our new friendship began to develop and blossom. With my bestie, Steve Walker, I was able to receive memorable “Ken Time” outside of choir rehearsals as well as within.
It saddens me that the number of years I was able to really get to know him were fleeting, but those few years were huge. He inspired me in many ways, not the least of which was allowing me to sing tenor (yay!), encouraging me to release my voice and stop holding it in, and, also for his words of wisdom. One I remember most was when he told me, “It’s amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it!” So true, from a man who accomplished so much. I will miss his quiet wisdom as well as his entertaining showmanship.
During events like these, our perception of time becomes skewed and it always feels like there is never enough. But believe it or not, we are eternal creatures, and he is singing with the choir of angels now. Actually...correction...I’m pretty sure he’s DIRECTING that choir! And one day...one day...we will sing together again.
Love you, Ken. (Attached is my favorite picture, so far.)

Kenneth Tuttle directed the Redlands Festival Singers. Formerly, he served as the Director of Chora

My heart is filled with gratitude for the love you have all shown Ken throughout his life as well as since his passing. Surely he was delighted with the wonderful service yesterday and seeing so many were able to attend in person and virtually. I personally felt a beautiful sense of family as we shared stories in honor of this great man. Sincere thanks to everyone who helped bring this day together and to First Presbyterian Church of San Bernardino for hosting.

Announcement:
We have lost our dear friend and beloved teacher Kenneth Tuttle. The Trustee of Ken’s estate wants to ensure that as many of his friends and former students as possible have an opportunity to have some memento from Ken’s years of teaching and conducting.
To that end, an “Open Garage” event will be held on Saturday, December 26 from 12:00-3:00 pm (first come, first served) at Mr. Tuttle’s home : Cottages of Corsica (gated community), 7643 Church St., Highland, CA 92346.
Ken was a cat lover and has a large collection of kitty figurines. We know it would tickle his heart for his students and friends to have one. There are some household items available too.
For entrance, check in at the gate house for the Cottages. You will need to park on Avenida Corsica or in any visitor parking space throughout the Cottages. Mr. Tuttle’s home address is 28925 Calle Rivera.
We will be social distancing. Please wear a mask.
We are ready to begin accepting video recordings for The Lord Bess You and Keep You virtual choir. Anyone who was involved with singing this song in chamber singers, with Tuttle at church, are highly encouraged to take a look at our event page where we will have instructions.

Please be sure to pay attention to Vince's instructions.
Thank you.
Progress update on how things are going for the songs. Also I need help with video editing all of the materials that we are gathering . If you have experience with this and are willing to help please message this page.

Thank you
I look back on the struggles that I went through that Tuttle always had my back with. One of the most important things he taught me was to persevere in spite of our tragedies. The show must go on, life must go on.
That being said I believe now is the time for us to start preparing any media, photos, videos, music related to Mr Tuttle for when a memorial service is ready.
Please submit anything and everything to this link, and share it with those who aren't on Facebook.
