🐾 Polly & Poppy are the last two puppies from their litter still searching for their forever homes! 🥹❤️

At around 10 weeks old, these adorable girls are growing fast and soaking up everything the world has to offer! These mixed-breed pups are expected to grow into medium-to-large sized dogs, making them the perfect companions for families looking for an active, loyal best friend.

Both girls are incredibly smart, eager to learn, and already starting to understand all those important puppy rules. They are at the perfect age to begin their journey with a family who is ready to invest the time, patience, and love that comes with raising a puppy into a well-mannered adult dog.

💜 Polly is the more outgoing and adventurous of the two. She loves exploring, meeting new people, and being right in the middle of the action. She would thrive with an active family that is excited to continue her training, socialization, and puppy adventures. Polly is always ready to learn something new and has the personality to keep you smiling every day!

🩷 Poppy is a little more laid-back and easygoing, but just as sweet. She has a gentle, loving nature and enjoys soaking up affection from her people. While she may be calmer than her sister, she is still a puppy through and through and will need the same commitment to training, structure, and socialization to help her become the best dog she can be.

Both girls are looking for families who understand that puppies are a lot of work—but the reward of watching them grow into amazing lifelong companions is worth every moment. They are ready to fill their future homes with love, laughter, puppy kisses, and plenty of unforgettable memories. 🐶❤️

While they love each other, Polly and Poppy will not be adopted to the same home. We want each puppy to have the opportunity to build confidence independently, create a strong bond with their own family, and continue growing into confident, well-rounded dogs.

Could Polly or Poppy be the missing piece your family has been waiting for? 🏡🐾🥰

The application to adopt is in the comments!😊

Please join me in wishing Angela a very belated Happy Birthday🐾🎉

Over the years, we’ve been through a lot of changes, but one thing has never changed, Angela’s dedication to the dogs🥹 No matter what is going on, she always shows up and does whatever it takes to keep this mission moving forward🩷
This work comes with many sacrifices, and Angela has never hesitated to put the dogs first. Rain or shine, good days or bad ones, she is always there when she’s needed. So many dogs have been given a second chance because of her commitment, compassion, and hard work🥰

Border Paws simply wouldn’t be the same without Angela, and I truly don’t know what we would do without her. We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of the organization, and the dogs are even luckier.
Happy Birthday, Angela! Thank you for everything you do for Border Paws and for the dogs who depend on us❤️🐾

Nova wanted to let you all know that she's made it to South Dakota & is THRIVING now that her puppies are being cared for in foster homes!❤️

At almost 4 years old, sweet Nova has already been through more than most dogs ever should. Despite everything, she remains one of the gentlest, most loving girls you could ever meet!🥹

Nova recently finished raising her puppies and is finally getting the chance to focus on being a dog herself. She was an incredible mama, giving birth to 4 beautiful puppies of her own while also lovingly accepting and caring for 2 orphaned babies as if they were hers.🥺 Through it all, she never stopped being patient, nurturing, and devoted. As if that wasn’t enough, she also made the long journey from New Mexico to South Dakota in search of a better future!🩷

Now it’s Nova’s turn to be cared for and spoiled!🥰

Nova is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves being close to her people. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the couch or soaking up all the pets and attention she can get, she is happiest when she’s with someone she loves. She also has a playful side and enjoys splashing around in the water whenever she gets the chance!🐶

Like many dogs who have experienced a lot of change in their lives, Nova can be a little anxious at times as she adjusts to new situations. Because of this, we think she would thrive in a home with another confident, friendly dog who can help show her that the world isn’t such a scary place. Having a canine companion to learn from would help her build confidence and settle into family life much more easily!😊

We would love to see Nova find a foster home—or even better, a foster-to-adopt home—where she can finally experience the stability, comfort, and love she deserves. After everything she has done for her puppies, she deserves a family that will choose her. We don’t want to see this amazing girl continue bouncing between boarding and temporary placements when what she truly needs is a place to call home!🏠🐾

If you’ve been thinking about fostering, Nova could be the perfect girl for you. Let’s help this deserving mama start her next chapter. 🩷🐾

Jax is STILL waiting for his furever home… 8 months later!💔

Jax is a 3 year old Boxer with the biggest heart and so much love to give. He absolutely adores people and kids and he wants to be right by your side — usually giving kisses and forgetting about personal space.😆

When Jax first came into our care, he struggled being around other animals due to the trauma he experienced early in life after being attacked multiple times by new dogs.🥺 He was constantly on edge and unsure of who or what he could trust. But with patience, structure, and love, Jax has made incredible progress.🥰 He is currently thriving in a foster home with other dogs and even two cats! (Side note: We will not adopt him into a home with cats due to his high prey drive when initially meeting them.) While Jax does very well with most dogs he knows and trusts, he can still be reactive toward new dogs, especially on walks or in busy public settings. Because of this, he would do best with an owner who understands his needs and can continue helping him build confidence through training, structure, and proper introductions!

Jax would be happiest living a more laid-back lifestyle, whether that means relaxing at home with his people or going on adventures to quieter, secluded places without a lot of dogs around. Despite this, he has made amazing progress in foster care and continues to improve every day. Once he feels comfortable, Jax absolutely loves to play, be goofy, and make new dog friends, and we truly believe he will keep blossoming with the right family by his side.😊

Jax would love a playful canine companion, but he needs the right match — a non-dominant dog and an experienced owner who understands introductions, boundaries, and helping him continue building confidence!🙂 Once Jax knows another dog is safe, his goofy, playful personality shines through.🐶

He loves playing ball, going on adventures, learning new things, and being with his people. He already knows many commands, listens very well, and is incredibly loyal to the people he trusts.🩵

Jax is looking for an experienced home with a house and a fenced yard where he can run, play, and continue to grow. He truly thrives with other dogs when paired with the right fit and proper guidance!

After everything he’s been through, Jax deserves a family to finally call his own. We hope his perfect people find him soon.🥹🐾

Update: puppies are covered!!

UPDATE: all 6 puppies have a foster IF we can find a temporary foster willing to foster 4 of the puppies from the evening of June 5th-morning of June 8th when their foster can come pick them up! Please message us if you can help 🥹🐾

Mama Nova and her 6 puppies will be arriving in just 2 weeks, on June 5th/6th! 🥹💞 They’ll be traveling all the way from New Mexico in hopes of getting the second chance they deserve❤️‍🩹

By the time Nova and her babies arrive, the puppies will be about 8 weeks old, which means they’ll be ready to separate from mama and head into foster homes for at least 2 weeks while they prepare for adoption!🐶🐾 We are hoping to place the puppies in 2 groups of 3, but can also split them into 3 groups of 2 if needed.
We also need a foster for Mama Nova. She can be placed with a group of puppies or on her own, but either way- she has been through so much change in the last few months and will need a calm, safe space to decompress and feel secure.💞❤️‍🩹

Nova gave birth to 4 of her puppies in the shelter, and while she was there, 2 orphaned strays around the same age were given to her to care for as well. She has been an incredible mama and now it’s her turn to be cared for🥹🐾

If you’re interested in fostering Mama Nova and/or her puppies, please apply through the link in the comments! Previous fosters or adopters do not need to reapply, just send us a message! When applying, please submit an application for Nova, and specify whether you’re interested in fostering Mama Nova, her puppies, or both- and how many puppies you’re able to take!

At this time, we are not accepting adoption applications for Nova or the puppies. If you’re interested in adopting, please keep an eye on our page for updates, or consider foster-to-adopt.
If you’re unable to foster, please help us by sharing this post so we can find loving homes and give these 7 deserving souls the fresh start they need!❤️
