๐ June is Men's Mental Health Month ๐
Seeking help is a sign of strength not weakness.
In 2024, 42.1% of U.S. men living with a mental illness received treatment in the past year. Every conversation, every appointment, and every step toward support matters.
If you're struggling, know that you don't have to face it alone. Reaching out for help, talking to a trusted friend, or connecting with a mental health professional can make a difference.
Let's continue breaking the stigma and encouraging men to prioritize their mental health.

๐ June is Men's Mental Health Month ๐
Men are often told to "be strong" and handle things on their own. The truth is that strength also means asking for help, talking about your feelings, and reaching out when you're struggling.
It's okay:
โ๏ธ To not be okay
โ๏ธ To ask for help
โ๏ธ To go to therapy
โ๏ธ To be vulnerable
โ๏ธ To have hard days
โ๏ธ To need support
Checking in on your mental health isn't weakness it's courage.
If you're struggling, know that you don't have to carry it alone.

Did you know about the CATCH Program?
The CATCH (Catch a Serial Offender) Program allows individuals who have experienced sexual assault to anonymously provide suspect information that may help identify repeat offenders.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
โข Made a Restricted Report
โข Made an Unrestricted Report but the suspect is unknown to law enforcement
โข Have not yet decided to make a report
Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. If a potential match is identified, you will be contacted by your local SARC not law enforcement and your identity remains protected.
To learn more about the CATCH Program, contact your local Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) or SAPR Victim Advocate (VA) at 605-385-1474 or via our helpline at 605-385-7272 (SARC).

June is National PTSD Awareness Month ๐
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can affect anyone after experiencing or witnessing trauma. While PTSD is commonly connected to combat veterans, trauma can stem from many experiences, including abuse, violence, serious accidents, natural disasters, medical events, or other deeply distressing situations.
According to the National Center for PTSD, about 6% of people will experience PTSD at some point in their lifetime, and nearly 12 million adults in the United States are affected each year. PTSD also impacts many Veterans, with rates varying across service eras.
PTSD is not a sign of weakness. It is a real and treatable condition, and support, healing, and hope are possible. No one should have to face it alone.

Sometimes mental health struggles donโt only show up emotionally they can show up physically too. Chronic fatigue, headaches, stomach issues, muscle tension, changes in sleep, or feeling constantly โon edgeโ can all be signs your mind and body are under stress.
Your body often speaks before your mind fully catches up. Listening to those signals with compassion instead of judgment matters. You deserve support, rest, and care mentally and physically. ๐ฟ
