Sewer roaches can nest in overlooked areas like garages, especially around clutter and old appliances.
This nest was hidden in a box next to an unused refrigerator.

The videos show the initial opening of the box and when the product inside was removed. The pictures show body parts, droppings, and other debris left behind by the roaches.

Source found. Problem resolved. ✅

Recently, we’ve had a few clients reach out asking what these were, and if they pose a threat.

These are Mayflies. Most of their lives are spent underwater as nymphs. When they begin to fully grow wings after the imago(adult) phase, they emerge in large, synchronized swarms and sometimes cause concern.

However, they pose no real threat to humans. They don’t bite, spread disease, and have a relatively short lifespan.

They are attracted to large bodies of water, and usually begin to hatch when we get hot weather + high humidity. They are also be attracted to lights(porch lights, street lamps, & windows).

If you see these, it doesn’t require a professional’s help. They will usually go away on their own. Reducing the conducive conditions mentioned above will help prevent a future swarm.

With the warmer weather, American cockroaches are starting to show up more often—especially in garages, kitchens, and bathrooms. These pests are big, fast, and not something you want hanging around your home.
