Timber Fortress
Out here trying to make the world a more unique and enjoyable place.
Finally at a point where I can start working on some projects. My main goal is finishing the garage floor (epoxy) before moving all my woodworking stuff in. Definitely a long road to get this place fixed up.
Going over how V Carving with a CNC works and why it is important to make sure your project is flat before you cut!

This little track saw was super useful to make these angled cuts for my desk build. Got the top cut-to-size in minutes πππ @ Raleigh, North Carolina
Quick video whitewashing this entryway table. The dark brown was way too rich and intense for our liking. The white will help reduce the contrast and make it more subtle. Definitely recommend doing this before it is assembled, because you really need to wipe with the grain and itβs hard to do in all the hard to reach places.
Iβll post some final photos but overall itβs looking pretty good.ππ
Does this count as pumpkin carving? Teaming up to make a few spooky decorations with ππ»
Just a teaser - stay tuned for upcoming posts as this project comes together π¨π

Major progress on the .nintendo shelves ππ I tried to finish all the shelves prior to glue up and I'll just say... Not for me.ππ«
The glue blocks the stain and it's easier to stain when they are all flat, so I can see the advantage there. I still got glue and dust on the shelves and I am going to have to clean them up a bit. I could have been more patient and masked all the areas. If you have any glue up tips drop them down below π
Still looking good just a bit more work to finish these upπ

First time cutting Dado Joints. Dry fit looks good! There's going to be two of these things tied together with a center shelf. A lot of shelves.

Hi π seems like a good time to do a Monday and tell you a little about myself π€·ββοΈ
My name is Steve and I am probably the most social introverted person you know. It can be sort of confusing. I like traveling and going out and meeting new people. I also like being alone and creating... stuff. A pretty vague thing to say, but that's really how it is.
I consider myself an engineer, software devloper, graphic designer, artist, and most recently - woodworker. Most of my professional career has been in product design and development, but I currently work in automation and software development.
Woodworking has really tied together a lot of the skills I have learned over the years. I started out mainly doing custom CNC signs, but I have slowly worked my way into more traditional woodworking. Almost all of the work I do is custom and made to order, so my projects are always all over the place. It's been a good way to learn a lot of things and I've been able to help out a lot of the people I know π
Anyway, I appreciate all the support. I've met a ton of people through the woodworking community and have received a lot of good advice and encouragement. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have an idea for an upcoming project - I am happy to helpπ

Back at it π Finished up this sign today β
Unfortunately the video staining and painting didn't save. Learned a few things, but overall I think it came out really good.
Happy to be able to do this kind of thing for my friends. Congrats Tina! β€οΈ
