My opponent is developer-backed; I’m backed by *you*. While she’s funded by special interests, I’m fighting for Raleigh’s families, legacy residents, and sustainable growth. Raleigh deserves a mayor who listens to the people—not developers.

Today, as we cast our votes and await the outcome of this election, I want to pause and share my deepest gratitude with each of you who stood by my side throughout this journey. Running this campaign has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life—not because of the speeches or the debates, but because of you.

The most important and moving part of this campaign has been the time I spent meeting you, talking to you, and feeling the weight of your stories—stories of struggle, resilience, hope, and the longing for change. Your trust in sharing your hopes and hardships has filled me with an unwavering commitment to stand by you and fight for our community.

No matter which way this election turns, know this: my purpose and promise remain the same. I will continue to advocate, to champion your voices, and to work every day to make our neighborhoods places of opportunity, dignity, and unity.

Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for reminding me why this work matters. Our community is strong, and I am honored to be a part of it with you, now and always.

Here's a brief reminder. I haven't taken a single dime from developers. This is why I have continuously told voters that I am UNBOSSED & UNBOUGHT. It's not enough to simply "say" that we need more housing. Affordability is the REAL issue in our city...and if developers aren't willing to be more flexible with OUR NEEDS, then we need to do business with those who are willing to help us get a grasp on our housing crisis. Be wary of those city council candidates who are busting at seams with developer donations. Remember this on Tuesday. Our lives depend on it.

This isn’t a “GOTCHA” post. It’s the painful truth. There are many candidates that simply don’t have the communities interest at heart. These are not feelings. They’re unfortunate facts.

🎤My brother, Shaw University alum, Hip Hop legend, and Newark City Councilman Dupre Kelly, aka DoItAll from Lords of the Underground, hit the stage here in Raleigh—and it wasn’t just about music! 🙌🏾Dupre took a moment in front of an electrifying crowd to show massive love and endorse my campaign for Mayor of Raleigh. His message? It’s time to support grassroots leaders who are *truly* for the people. 🌟Our shared journey from Shaw U to public service proves one thing—REAL change starts with us, from the communities we love, and Raleigh is no exception. This city deserves leadership that isn’t backed by developers or corporate interests but by the PEOPLE. 💪🏾With Dupre’s support and the backing of this incredible community, I’m more energized than ever to fight for affordable housing, equitable development, and to preserve the soul of Raleigh. I appreciate you so, so much! C'mon y'all! Let’s get to work! ✊🏾
