Life is funny and throws us a few curve balls doesn’t it? 😅 I kept my dream alive, and I am proud to say that I completed my college journey. I really believe deep down inside that going to school has helped me get through this difficult last year by focusing on something positive. ✨

Making the decision to go back to school is certainly exciting, it also can be intimidating and poses a unique set of challenges. There are so many of my colleagues that have reached out expressing reservations about wanting to going back to school.

I hear the same questions:❓

* Can I do this? I don’t know if I’m smart enough?

* How am I going to fit school into my schedule?

* Do I have the discipline to do the homework?

All of these fears are understandable – I think almost any adult learner experiences self-doubt at some point during their academic journey, but persistence and an eye on the ultimate goal - a DEGREE - helps to keep you going! 👩‍🎓

What are my answers: ⬇️

* Yes, you are smart enough.  Remember you have life experience that will help you as you navigate classes and learn new material.

* Yes, you can fit school into your schedule. Even if you work full time or have kids, there are options that will work around your schedule. Online programs allow you to do your coursework wherever and whenever it’s convenient for you.

* Again, if this is something you truly want, you will make time to do the homework. And if you have kids, you will become their greatest role model as you pursue your educational goals.

Sure, it is important to be realistic about the challenges you’ll face when going back to school as an adult. Just be sure not to let them scare you away from pursuing your full potential! 💛

So fortunate to have accomplished one of my career goals. Learning from one of my injectable idols Dr. Arthur Swift.🤩 @swiftbeauty

After a year long pause from in-person trainings the 3 day masterclass on advanced injection therapy did not disappoint! 💉

Excited to bring beautification, proportion, and harmonization back to my patients for full facial optimization! ⚖️

After receiving under eye filler incorrectly from another plastic surgery office, I appreciated that this patient trusted me to “correct” the excessive bags that had formed under her eyes. I am also beyond thankful that she was willing to share her journey on IG.

⭐️ What causes tear troughs?

The tear trough is caused by the loss or shifting of subcutaneous fat, thinning of the skin, and relaxation of the orbital rim ligaments, combined with cheek descent. Generally, tear troughs are a result of more than one variable.

⭐️ Who is a good candidates for tear trough Injections?

Have mild to moderate hollowness underneath the eyes with support in the mid or lateral cheeks. Patients with more severe hollowness or patients with excess skin and heavy under-eye bags may be candidates for lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).

⭐️ What problems can occur after tear trough filler?

* Overfilled tear trough can accentuate swelling. This effect of “bags under the eyes” and can be further accentuated by loss of volume in the cheek region.

* Too superficially placed filler can result in a bluish discoloration under the eyes after filler called the tyndall effect.

* Patients who have seasonal allergies that fluctuate with swelling under the eyes may have increased swelling or puffiness under the eyes after filler.

* Patients with festoons/malar bags may have excessive swelling due to lymphatic drainage being blocked.

⭐️ How long does it take for eye fillers to settle?

This filler works naturally, much like the hyaluronic acid your body already produces. Because it works this way, it takes two to three weeks to fully settle into your skin. This means that while you'll see an immediate improvement, you won't see your final results right away.

⭐️ Can under eye filler be removed?

Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm, Restylane, RHA, and Belotero, can be partially or completely removed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

Aesthetic nurse specialist Mary Shaver answered one of your “most-asked questions” about BOTOX® Cosmetic on today’s #AskUsAnything. Head to our Instagram® Stories to hear more from Mary and learn more about the three FDA-approved treatment areas.
-
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
-
Talk to your doctor about BOTOX® Cosmetic and whether it’s right for you. There are risks with this product - the effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be a sign of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at the highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection-site pain, fatigue and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don’t receive BOTOX® Cosmetic if there’s a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions (including ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome), and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.

To me, there is no contest. 👇 Vaccination — and the science behind it — wins‼️

When I received my vaccine, it felt like the beginning of the end for COVID-19. It was a day of relief and optimism. I hope there are many more days like it ahead. ☀️

Many people will base their vaccination 💉 decisions on their own personal risk of developing COVID-19, and the risks of people whom they encounter regularly — whether patients, loved ones, or community members.

I rolled up my sleeve. Will you? 💪
