Say Hello to Lane Green, our Cline Creative and Senior Project Manager in our Austin Office.

Lane’s love of architecture was shaped early on by her grandparents’ home, designed by an O’Neil Ford protege, with its mass timber beams and floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding a central courtyard. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, she brings a deep connection to place and architectural character into her work.

We asked Lane a few questions about her journey and here is what she had to share.

Why did you choose the profession you are in?

I was really into music when I was in high school but also loved the straight forwardness of mathematics...when it came time to pick a major, Architecture seemed like the perfect marriage of art and science.

What inspires your work/what you do?

I love working with people- all personalities and points of view. I see my job as filtering through many people's perspectives and coming up with the very best possible solution to a design or decision-making problem.

What are your words of wisdom for someone stepping into this industry?

Your first job will influence the path of your career WAY more than what you learn in school- so I recommend really researching the firms and industries that you're interested in while applying for jobs. Of course, sometimes landing that first job is a feat in itself, so keep an open mind and enjoy the ride...your career path may take you places you never considered!

As student housing continues to evolve, the design challenge is no longer simply to deliver beds. It is to create places that support connection, independence, wellness, and belonging.

At Cline, our student housing work spans campus-adjacent communities, purpose-built residential environments, and Greek housing rooted in identity and tradition. Across project types, the goal is the same: to design places that work for students, campuses, clients, and the communities around them.

🌟New Project Announcement!🌟

JetZero - The Hub - Greensboro, North Carolina

Collaborating with JetZero’s leadership and design team has been an incredible opportunity,” said Mark Odom, Partner at Cline. “JetZero has established a clear vision for how its environments can support innovation, growth, and collaboration, and we’re honored to help bring that vision to life.”

The Hub is part of JetZero’s first production and final assembly campus, an 8-million-square-foot facility spanning more than 600 acres that will support development and manufacturing of the company’s revolutionary Z4 aircraft.

Landscapes are never blank slates.

They hold memory, culture, ecology, movement, and community meaning. After attending the 2026 SERC Conference, Josh Karrick and Madison Megrath share reflections on listening before shaping, designing with care, and creating places built for long-term public value.

Pinehurst Sandmines Golf Course 10 Amenity Spaces 06/03/2026

We’re excited to see Pinehurst Sandmines featured by Hospitality Snapshots.

Located within Pinehurst Resort's newest expansion in Aberdeen, North Carolina, Pinehurst Sandmines brings together golf, hospitality, and a deep sense of place across 30,000 square feet of new amenity space. With architecture and interior design by Cline, the project includes the Golf Pro Shop, a halfway refreshment building at Hole 9, and Station 21, a full-service restaurant designed to welcome golfers, resort guests, and the surrounding community.

Inspired by the Sandhills landscape and the site’s industrial and railroad heritage, the design pairs heavy timber construction, reclaimed siding, exposed structural elements, and warm interior finishes to create spaces that feel relaxed, refined, and rooted in their surroundings.

Thank you to Hospitality Snapshots for the feature.

Meridian East Chatham | A New Edge for Downtown Cary 05/28/2026

A new edge for downtown Cary.

Located just a few blocks from Downtown Cary Park, Meridian East Chatham brings 220 residences, ground-floor retail, and layered amenity spaces to one of Cary’s fastest-growing areas. Designed for Northview Partners, the mixed-use community was shaped to strengthen the existing urban fabric—extending the streetscape, supporting walkability, and creating opportunities for connection.

Rather than reading as a single mass, the architecture is thoughtfully composed into three distinct volumes, creating a sense of rhythm and scale along East Chatham Street. Ground-floor retail, including a yoga studio, activates the pedestrian experience, while amenities like co-working, fitness, lounge, courtyard, and rooftop spaces support connected living.

Bringing together architecture, interiors, landscape architecture, and planning, Meridian East Chatham reflects a cohesive vision for downtown Cary’s continued growth. Learn more: https://www.clinedesignassoc.com/project/meridian-east-chatham/

We may not be aerospace engineers, but every now and then, we like to test the limits of paper, patience, and office pride.

In honor of National Paper Airplane Day, our Something Social crew brought a little friendly competition to the Charlotte and Raleigh offices with a paper airplane contest.

Because at Cline, even a quick break from the workday can turn into a design challenge. Especially when distance, accuracy, and bragging rights are involved.

Fold carefully. Launch confidently. Hope for the best.

Charlotte is growing, and we're proud to help shape its future. Our Graham Street project preserves history while creating modern living. Across the city, Cline builds communities rooted in connection and experience.
