It is 9:30pm on the East Coast, about 5 days since rampaged across the Southeast US. Hundreds of thousands are still without power, water, nor shelter. Worse, all of those flood waters are making their way east towards the Atlantic, triggering Flood Warnings in downstream areas.
If you are able, please contribute time and/or resources towards the recovery efforts for those hard-hit communities. We are ALL in this together

The area outside of Salemburg, NC has received an incredible 13+ inches of rain over the last 22 hours!

8:00pm EST high resolution satellite data from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) passed right over what is now TS Ophelia
There is a LOT going on right now in the Atlantic 👀
But here in Carolina, nothing to worry about (so far)

Over 100,000 without power from Charlotte to Raleigh. With "rain-cooled" air temps in Raleigh around 75°F & widespread damage hindering repair efforts, the race is on to restore power before dangerously high temps, easily exceeding 92°F, on Tuesday begin to threaten life

Hurricane Watches posted for the east coast of Florida. Highly irregular storm path, especially for this time of year. Expect choppy seas ALL along the Atlantic coast from NC southwards. Looking like a wet weekend for central NC! Stay posted for more detailed updates!

Strong chance of tropical development over the next 2 to 5 days, with potential impacts for the Carolinas. Still to early to know for sure, but I will be keeping a close eye on the situation!
