The Radcliff Woman's Club is proud to support the Crusade for Children and its mission of helping children with special needs throughout our community. Today, we were honored to make a donation that will help provide essential services, equipment, and opportunities for children and families who rely on this incredible organization.

Giving back and making a positive difference has always been at the heart of what we do. We are grateful for the work of the Crusade for Children and for everyone who continues to support their life-changing efforts.

WHAS Crusade for Children weekend is June 6th and 7th. You can go to WHASCrusade.org to donate directly or drop off your donations at the Radcliff Fire Department. If paying online, please specify in the notes that the donation is for Radcliff Fire Department/Hardin County. Make checks payable to the WHAS Crusade for Children. All money collected comes back to Hardin County. Please be careful driving through the roadblocks and show your support for your local fire department. Fire Academy of Kentucky graduation pictures from last Friday May 15th.

We have two of our firefighters that were hired in the month of May. Christopher CJ Patterson was hired in May 2015 and was just promoted to the rank of Lieutenant effective yesterday! Ethan Patterson was hired in May last year and just completed his first year. Congratulations, and here's to many more years of service to Radcliff.

The Fire Academy of KY held its graduation ceremony for class 008 on Friday. Radcliff was fortunate to have 3 recruits in this graduating class Today 2 of them, Cayden Logsdon and Logan Minton, started their careers working a 24 hour shift with 48 hours off. Tomorrow the 3rd recruit, Grant Humble, will start his career working the 24/48 schedule. We're proud of these 3 graduates for putting in 13 weeks at the academy to learn what it takes to be a firefighter. They will head back to the Fire Academy in July for their EMT-B certification. Now we get them trained in rescue, hazardous materials, daily operations, and all of the nuances of Radcliff. Congratulations and welcome to our family!

There is a slight risk for severe weather tonight. The National Weather Service has given the timeline from 7PM - 5AM tonight for the entire area. It looks like strong wind is the highest threat and a marginal risk for tornado. Please secure any loose outdoor objects. Make sure you have a way of getting notifications, such as, a cellphone with weather alerts enabled, a weather radio, TV, radio, etc. We will monitor the weather and if the need arises, we will open the storm shelter. Our storm shelter is located in the basement of Radcliff Fire Station 1, 604 South Wilson Road. The shelter is on the left(north) side of the building. Do not park in the front of the bay doors. Please leave a way for our fire trucks to get out to the emergencies, especially in the front. We had an issue with this during the last storm. As Ryan Hall says, "don't be scared, be prepared".
