New Adult Science Fiction Indie Author and Poet, based in Southern Colorado. I live in southern- Colorado with my husband, two sons, and our cat.
My writing focus is on young adult science fiction and fantasy, literary fiction, prose, poems, and non-fiction essays. I enjoy all things nerdy, rain, iced coffee, a breathtaking view, and spending time with my family. Outside of writing, I dabble in crafting, painting, and photography.
The Beyond by Agnes Stone, a narrative, descriptive poem I wrote for a writing class, using lines directly from my debut novel The Beyond. This poem explores the intertwined conflict of a dystopian futuristic world and my view on it as the creator of that world. The Beyond and it's follow up Purpose are available just about everywhere, and The Beyond poem will be available in my upcoming poetry book, Whimsy & Woe.

We live in a world designed to break us. There's nothing wrong with us, there's something wrong with the system, and the only way to survive is to accept that we will break. But breaking isn't the end, it isn't weakness, it's an opportunity to rebuild.

When it comes to sci-fi there are several sub genres, which do you prefer aliens or dystopian futures? Personally, I think I will always have a soft spot for dystopian futures, but aliens are starting to interest me. Leave your preference in the comments.
