When I made some of my first hand pillows many of them were flesh colored and inadvertently non diverse. I didn’t realize at the time that offering finite pink and tan “skin colors” could perpetuate normalcy/supremacy around what skin colors are desirable. In an effort to distance myself from that I came to the decision to make colorful hands only.

It’s apparent to me how important this conversation is and how even novel, random self expression needs to be examined for implicit bias or lack of empathy for others, specifically the Black community.

So this is how I choose to take part right now. In addition to listening and reflecting I am donating all proceeds during this time to and This is the beginning and I am not done.

Dear neighbors, I hope you are staying safe during this stressful time. I feel fortunate to have the ability and setup to work from home and that staying in is already a cherished routine for me. However, I’ve been hearing news of friends and neighbors being impacted by this I can’t help but want to do my part.
For the rest of the March and potentially through April, 25% of the proceeds will go directly toward organizations that are doing good. These ones I’ve chosen make sure people have access to meals or food stamps during this unstable time . Right now’s the right time to lend a hand, even beyond pillows.
If there are other organizations I should consider donating to-either as a business/individual please, please let me know!

Hard requirement: must be soft and blobular ☁️ ... really content with how my studio space is evolving, basically everything must match the pillows 🙃

Last few packages going out for Christmas! It’s been a wild, happy month of making pillows into the night but all that’s worth it because I CANNOT wait to see pics when you get them!
