The Alexandria Historical Society is intended to promote a love of history among the students of Pat PHC students of any major can become a part of the AHS.

The mission of the Alexandria Historical Society is to promote a love of history among the students of the College, furthering the goal of Patrick Henry College to emphasize the heritage of this nation in its students’ studies. Alexandria Historical Review: Imperialism 01/31/2018

Alexandria historical review issue 1 volume 1 08/29/2017

The Alexandria Historical Society is pleased to announce the publication of the first edition of the Alexandria Historical Review. Authors for the first edition include Johanna Christophel, Bethany Horvat, Becca Samelson, and Rosalie Blacklock. The editors are Nathaniel Mullins, Olivia Cockley, Dawson Frasier, Mark Van Matre, and Stan Crocker, along with design editor Megan McEwen. We owe much to the advice of Drs. Favelo and Spinney.

Wishing the Class of 2017 History majors a (belated) congratulations on their graduation from Patrick Henry College! Ravi Zacharias delivered the commencement address. After the ceremony Drs. Spinney and Favelo
awarded each History graduate an original World War II medal with the inscription "Efficiency | Honor | Fidelity " for their commitment to the History program.


This week marks the beginning of the Spring 2017 Newsmakers Interviews Series with Dr. Marvin Olasky. Come on out to the BHC Coffee Shop each day for some inspiring and intriguing interviews! Some of the most important voices in politics, religion, and education will share their thoughts on what's most important in today's culture.

EDIT: The impending snow store has caused some of the interviews to be reschedule. Today's interviews include James Ackerman of Prison Fellowship and Canon Andrew White (the vicar of St George's Church in Baghdad) at 4 p.m.

Hello everyone! The AHS cordially invites all in the club to attend dinner with Dr. Favelo at the Chickfila in Purcellville. We will meet there at 6 PM ON TUESDAY for the last hurrah of the semester! If you plan on coming, message Dawson Frasier and let him know.


The current board of the Alexandria Historical Society is very excited to announce that Dawson Frasier and Savannah Petree will be replacing us in the leadership roles of our student organization. They will be your new contacts for membership and events, and we are looking forward to seeing the new and amazing adventures they have planned for all of you. Thank you so much for allowing us to lead the AHS for two wonderful years! We hope that you continue to share your passion for history with the students of Patrick Henry College.

Don't forget to RSVP by tonight for the Alexandria Historical Society kickoff party!! The party is this Friday night, January 29th, from 6-9 pm at Dr. Favelo's house in Round Hill. We will be providing rides from campus, leaving at 5:45 from the front of the BHC. We are aware that Dr. Spinney is hosting a movie for the freshmen, so we will be providing rides for the freshmen back to campus in time for the movie. If you are interested in coming, please RSVP via email to Emily Higley.

The Alexandria Historical Society is hosting our semester kickoff party next Friday night, January 30, from 6-9 PM at Dr. Favelo's house in Round Hill. The evening will include food (pizza!), a variety of games, and conversations with Dr. Favelo and history majors who can answer any questions you have about the history major and the new changes being made to make it easier to pursue.

If you are interested in being a part of the AHS or in becoming a history major, please plan to come to this event! Any PHC student can be a member of the AHS, regardless of your major. The AHS holds events every semester that vary from trips to Gettysburg to watching Gladiator with Dr. Favelo.

If you would like to attend the AHS kickoff party, please RSVP to Emily Higley via email by next Wednesday, January 28. In addition, please let us know if you would be willing to provide transportation for others to the event. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
