Need a back-to-school idea? đź’™

Last year, Old Bridge High School's Hope Squad in New Jersey welcomed students with a prize wheel, school maps, Hope Squad resources, and a preview of upcoming events.

Hundreds of students stopped by to connect and learn more about the Squad—a simple but powerful way to normalize conversations about mental health, build connections, and make support visible from day one.

What happens when students lead the conversation about mental health?

Communities come together. đź’š

At Allen High School in Texas, the Hope Squad and Student Council partnered to host a community walk filled with fun activities, student-led stories of hope, and opportunities to connect. Students, families, educators, and community members gathered for a day of conversation, encouragement, and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health.

Hope Squad doesn't just impact a school—it creates ripple effects throughout an entire community.

Hope Squad's mission is always centered on mental health and su***de prevention. But there's another lasting benefit: The leadership skills Members carry with them long after graduation. ✨

Hope Squad empowers students to lead with empathy, build meaningful connections, and help create a culture where everyone feels seen and supported.

The result? Compassionate leaders who make a difference—in their school and in their communities for a lifetime.

Hope Squad's impact doesn't end at graduation. ❤️

Hope Squad helped inspire Krisha Basu's passion for supporting others. Today, she's studying psychology and biology at Stanford University and serving on the Coalition for Student Wellbeing, where she continues advocating for student mental health.

Krisha shares, "Hope Squad shaped the way I think about advocacy by reinforcing the importance of compassion, inclusivity, and culturally responsive approaches to mental health."

Her journey is a reminder that the seeds of compassion, leadership, and hope planted by Hope Squad continue to grow long after students leave campus.

School is out, but hope is still in.

You don't have to have all the answers to make a difference. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is listen, show you care, and help connect someone to a trusted adult or resource.

A simple conversation could be the bridge that leads someone from struggling to being supported.
