Back-to-school brings lots of "what if" thoughts. 🍎📚
For most kids, these worries come and go. But for kids with OCD, "what if" thoughts can feel overwhelming and may lead to checking, reassurance-seeking, or avoiding school.

The good news? OCD is treatable. Kids can learn skills to manage their worries and feel more confident at school.

If your child's worries seem bigger than typical back-to-school nerves, we're here to help. 💙

OCD can look very different from one person to the next. It isn’t simply about being clean, organized, or particular—and some compulsions may be completely invisible to others.

Understanding what OCD actually looks like is an important first step toward recognizing it and finding appropriate treatment. đŸ€

Understanding the difference between a thought and an intention is an important part of OCD treatment.

If you relate to this, know that you’re not alone. Save this post for later or share it with someone who may need to hear it. 💙

Intrusive thoughts can feel frightening—but they don’t define you.

OCD often targets the things you value most, which is why these thoughts can feel so distressing. Remember: a thought is not an intention, a desire, or a reflection of who you are.

💙Save this post as a reminder: A thought is just a thought.

People often focus on the challenges of OCD—and those challenges are very real. But many people with OCD are also incredibly kind, thoughtful, empathetic, and detail-oriented. They notice what others miss, care deeply about others, and have a strong desire to do what’s right.

OCD isn’t a superpower. But the compassion, resilience, and awareness so many people with OCD develop are truly remarkable. 💙
