KVMA has grave concerns regarding the Murray State proposal to build a distributive model veterinary school in Kentucky. This will ultimately endanger the contract seats @ Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine that has been in place for 73 years with over 76% of KY residents returning to KY to practice. Please read below our list of main concerns. KVMA will make daily posts breaking down each of these points and feel free to share this in your own FB feed.
Contact your Legislators if this also concerns you!

Hello everyone, I was chatting with joker this morning and he want to be sure to remind you that it's a beautiful day and all of those horses out there are not going to ride themselves! We hope that you all have a safe and beautiful ride this weekend. If something happens, know that we are here for you all weekend. We can sew them up, rehydrate them and treat the soreness. Of course, I'm talking about the horses. You humans are on your own! Have a great ride!

Joker says good morning! He is a wise... donkey. With the significant weather changes over the next few days there will be a large amount of horses with digestive upset. If your horse is showing signs of colic don't wait. Give us a call. The vast majority of these colics when treated quickly never mature into a life threatening or surgical colic. Our Vets are highly trained to diagnose and treat these colics to keep our friends happy and healthy. We are available for all of your afterhours needs in and around the Louisville area. 502-377-3327

It's that time of year! The mares are getting round and babies are on their way. This is a common time for mares to get colicky. If your mare is not acting right don't wait. When she has her baby let us know. Remember the 123 rule: Stands at one hour, nurses at two hours, and passes placenta at three hours. If they miss any of these makers give us a call no matter what time it is. Have one of our emergency vets check them out and make sure all is well. When you have your new bundle of joy send us some pics! Everybody loves baby horse pictures!
